Chapter 39

Lockey and Gage went to the wormhole traveling through time and space. He wasn't letting him go. He knew that this was an opportunity to get back to him and make him payback for what he had done. Knowing that Gage has been closely tied in with their life, he felt so stupid he wasn't able to notice that before, but he should've followed his guts before. That he didn't really like Gage at all.

"Let me go!" sigaw ni Gage ngunit hindi nagpasindak ang binata. Hindi sumagi sa isipan ni Lockey na pakawalan ito dahil sa isip-isip niya ay ito na ang pagkakataon na malaman ang totoong pakay ni Gage sa kanya. "Do you really want to do this, huh? You will get what you want."

Grabbing Gage by his arm, Lockey was able to hold on to him tightly while his enemy just sped up running up toward the end of the wormhole where both of them had seen the light along with noises coming from the people close to them.

Lockey focused himself not losing Gage in his sight, but he wasn't able to do so when they finally got out of the wormhole, entering a new time and place. At that moment, Gage was still captured and there they got into a hospital room where a woman in her thirties was giving birth to a baby boy.

Lockey thought it was his mother giving birth and he was the baby, but he realized that it wasn't him. It was Gage.

"It's a Baby Boy. Date and time of birth, 4:07 PM, February 2, 2134. . ." Sa punting iyon ay doon lamang na-realize ni Lockey kung nasaan sila ngayon. He glanced at Gage and realized that he didn't come from the present time where Lockey was in. Gage came from the future and he was going after him because of something he did.

Gage tried to run away, but he wasn't able to escape from Lockey until they saw another wormhole that was opening. Lockey with Gage, they just went through it and there they found a teenager Gage who had trouble getting in the social since his ability wasn't biologically natural and he got his ability from the mistakes his parents made. He inherited it and now people were mocking him for being a fraud.

Lockey glanced at Gage's face, anger and sadness were battling out. He just wanted to get off and get away with what they were seeing.

They just watched how they bullied the teenager Gage at his age, and just ran off somewhere else. Lockey wanted to see where he would go, but Gage didn't want to come along with him. As soon as they saw another wormhole coming out, and to escape the underlying situation, he dragged Lockey out toward the wormhole entering a new time and place.

But as soon as they came out of it, Lockey was guessing what was happening, but Gage just wanted to get out of this place. Because the next thing they saw was Gage walking down the hallway and secretly entering a room. Gage and Lockey entered the room before it could be locked and there they saw the room filled with advanced technology and equipment that Lockey hadn't been before. 

"What the fuck is happening?" Gage muttered under his breath.

"Are we going through your past?" Lockey asked, but he didn't answer it. Like he wasn't interested in filling his curiosity, but just ignored him completely. "This is torture to you, isn't it? Going through the times you have been to and see what you've done."

"I didn't do anything wrong."

"But you're about to be," Lockey said, looking seriously at Gage. "You're intending to kill me or put me out of my existence, but that could also be the end of everything for you. Is this what you want for the rest of your life?"

"With your existence, you've been my greatest enemy. Even though you weren't alive for so long from the time I was born, your legacy has been marked in history. At this point, it doesn't matter if I won't exist in the future as long as you aren't, too."

"You can still change your decision," Lockey said, trying to persuade him even though it won't make any difference. "You can go and live your life."

"Do you think that would be so easy?" he questioned. "Come with me then. This is where I'll kill you."

Gage dragged Lockey to another wormhole that had opened, and there before they could pass and get out to another time and place, someone just got in their way, snatching Gage away from Lockey's hand. Lockey was so confused he got out of the wormhole alone. It was so fast, he wasn't able to have a grasp of what just happened.

As he looked around, he got back to the present time where he watched the wormhole vanish into thin air. Lockey waited to see if something would happen, but nothing showed up. His attention was called out when Simon and Malcolm got in his direction telling him where he had been and if they needed to look out for Gage. Hindi naman nakasagot si Lockey, but he was just told that they needed to evacuate as an avalanche was coming towards the building.

"Where's everyone?" Lockey asked.

"They all got down safely, we need to leave now."

At that moment, Lockey took Simon and Malcolm with him as they ran back to the city and watched the building drowned by an avalanche. He was still trying to understand what was going on and he wasn't even sure if they were winning against the government, at this moment, no one knew what the future held, but he hoped that this was the end of a wicked leadership by Mayor Nicholson. It all ends today.
