Freya's pov

"Mamma, I met a new friend today!" Matthew exclaimed with a big smile.

"Give Mamma a hug," I said, opening my arms. He rushed into my embrace, and I held him tightly, overwhelmed with the feeling of missing him throughout the day.

"Do you know how much your Mamma missed you today, Matthew?" I asked, planting a loving kiss on his cheek as he giggled in response.

"Yes, Mamma," he giggled, his eyes filled with the innocence of childhood.

I beamed with pride, ruffling his hair. "You're such a good boy, Matthew, and Mamma is so lucky to have you."

"Mamma, I made another friend today," he excitedly told me once again.

I couldn't help but find it a bit strange. My son seemed more eager to share stories of his new friends than the potentially life-changing secret he harbored – his emerging supernatural abilities. I wondered when and how he had discovered these unique powers, and why he hadn't mentioned them yet.

I smiled at him, my heart warming at his excitement. "Who's this new friend, sweetie? Should I be worried that they'll take my baby away from me?"

As the words left my mouth, a sudden wave of anxiety swept over me. The thought of Alpha Dominic discovering that Matthew was his biological son and potentially trying to take him away filled me with dread. What would the future hold for us if that secret were to unravel?

I took a deep breath and reminded myself that I was no longer the vulnerable human they had once perceived me to be. I couldn't let the fear of Alpha Dominic discovering the truth weaken my resolve. I would fight for my son with every ounce of strength, even though he was the alpha's child.

"Of course not, Mamma," Matthew reassured me, his voice filled with unwavering loyalty. "I will never leave you, to the Moongoddess and back."

Matthew's heartfelt response filled me with warmth. "Awe," I whispered, overwhelmed with love for my resilient and courageous little boy.

I picked him up off the ground, planting an adoring kiss on his forehead. "Is there anything else you want to show or tell, sweetheart?" I gazed into his striking blue eyes, so similar to those of his father, Alpha Dominic.

Matthew's face lit up with excitement as he shared, "Yes, Mamma, his name is Dominic, and he's an alpha."

If only my dear son knew that Alpha Dominic was indeed his father. The secret I held weighed heavy on my heart, and the day he would discover the truth loomed with uncertainty and potential upheaval.

"Great! Is there anything else you want to tell me?" I inquired curiously, eager to learn more about my son's day.

I could see him thinking long and hard, his young mind processing, before he suddenly said, "No." I couldn't help but scowl a little as I placed him back on the ground.

It was strange, indeed, how he had confided in a stranger about his new ability but wouldn't share anything about his unique abilities with me. The inconsistency left me both curious and perplexed.

"Come on, sweetie, you can tell me," I encouraged, pinching his cheek gently, hoping this time he'd open up.

"No, Mamma, I don't have anything to tell you," he responded, leaving me frustrated and perplexed.

The thought that my three-year-old son was keeping secrets from me, even if they were about something seemingly innocuous, raised my concerns. If he was hiding something like this, I couldn't help but wonder what else he might be keeping to himself.
