Unkept Feelings

In the realm of words, I falter, I stall,

Afraid that speaking might shatter it all.

If only I possessed a book full of magical words,

I'd blend them, a blur, a moment of misheard stories.

Unprepared to unravel the lessons you might leave,

In the story of us, I'm hesitant to believe.

Mourning lingers, a shadow in the dusk,

Yet I'm not prepared to say goodbye, Leave, I must.

A vow of honesty, a promise I made,

Yet my emotions, a secret, in the shadows they were set aside.

A liar am I, in the silence I've dwelled,

Now, the truth emerges, a story to be read.

So, when I unveil the feelings I keep,

No need for affection, no need to leap.

Just unfurl your heart, in understanding's clutch,

As I navigate the labyrinth, confessing this much.
