"The 48."
season 02, episode 01May we meet again.
That was the last thing that Berlin thought before she went unconscious. Finn and Bellamy were dead. She was sure of it. She didn't want to think about it but she had to accept the truth. Hundreds of burnt corpses lied outside the drop ship doors. There was no way that they were able to survive the blast off.
Heavy and slow footsteps were heard walking into the drop ship as Berlin lied still on the ground. Her heart was racing as they approached towards her. They got louder the closer they got but they weren't going to her. The grounder walked to Raven and reached down to turn her on her back but Raven held a gun and shot him instantly, making him fall back with a loud thud.
Berlin jolted up and looked at Raven who was breathing heavily and lied back down. "Raven?" She crawled forward and hovered over the girl, helping her sit up and lean her back against the wall. "Are you okay?"
New footsteps were heard coming up the ramp to the drop ship. Raven was groaning in pain and Berlin looked from her to the gun on the ground. She sighed and picked it up, pointing it at the drop ship door, awaiting for the grounder to step inside.
Her finger shook on the trigger as she watched the person getting closer and appearing past the flap. Except, it wasn't a grounder. "Whoa, whoa, it's okay. Berlin, don't, it's okay. Don't shoot. Please."
Berlin glared at Murphy as she kept the gun pointed at him. "Why not? You shot Raven." Berlin felt her heart about to jump out of her chest as her finger pressed the trigger. Nothing happened. Her finger pressed down on the trigger once more but nothing. "Of course there's no ammo." She mumbled and tossed it to the side.
Murphy let out a sigh and hobbled over towards the two girls, Berlin staying right by Ravens side, watching as he sat down across from them. "Yeah, I would've shot me too."
It was silent for a couple minutes as the 3 tried to process what happened. They were all feeling different things, Raven was in Pain, Murphy was tired and Berlin was heartbroken. Where was everyone? "What are you doing here, Murphy?"
Murphy was using a knife to cut something off of him but Berlin couldn't see what. He stopped and threw the knife to the side as he looked over at her. "Dying. Same as you." His head nodded towards Raven, who was gripping her leg.
"Speak for yourself." Raven grunted as she tried to shift herself making Berlin instantly reach out to her but Raven shot her down. She was determined to do this by herself. She sighed and as spoke once again, "How many more are out there?"
"None." Murphy breathed out a sigh as she leaned back against the wall. "You fried them all. The only reason this one survived is because they left him behind to guard me."
Raven gave Murphy a side glance, obviously not trusting the guy, before a gasp escaped her lips. "Raven?" Berlin looked at her friend as she started to cough up some blood and gasp.
"Raven. Lie on your side." Murphy sat up with an alarmed look and rushed over to the girl but Raven was trying to push him away. "Lie on your side. Come on. Fine, then just roll over yourself. Get down on your side." Raven listened to him and lied down on her side as the blood came spewing out and the choking came to a stop. "You're okay. It's all good."
