She did it. We were walking home, and she was holding her phone downwards. It was silent for a while, that was until she broke it.
"I, uhm, I have a crush on you, and I completely understand if you don't like me back." Her face was red, mine was too, probably. I didn't know what to say. I was so, so happy she had said this because now I had the opportunity to go out with the girl of my dreams. It was very awkward, and I felt so bad because I didn't know what to say. I kept on wanting to say things, but my brain wouldn't let me. She had to fill in the silence multiple times and I just felt so, so bad.
It was time for us to split up and go different ways, so I knew I had to say it now. I stopped walking, she did too. My heart was pounding like a drum in my chest and my face filled with hot blood.
"Do you wanna go out with me?" I finally asked. She said yes, and then we said goodbye. I watched her cross the road, to make sure she crossed safely, and then I continued to walk up my street, a smile plastered on my face the whole time.
