Chapter Nine 

3rd person pov 

anna laid in the hospital bed staring up at the ceiling as Chad watched her. the two of them sat in silence, the door was locked and they didn't like how it felt to be alone right now. anna wanted to know what was happening back at the house 

"you worrying about them aren't you?" chad asked her and she sighed as she turned her head and she looked at him 

" of course I am, I mean, we're not there to help them Chad" she stated and he shook his head with a sigh 

"anna , you got attacked. i get it worrying about them is all you can do but don't. don't think like that. don't worry about something you can't control" he told her 

"its just, i already lost wes. i can't lose another person. i got attacked and i've been worrying about them because i know what its like and its horrible. we've never had to deal with something like this and now we do. I just I keep thinking about the fact that I can't protect them, if they get hurt, and I'm not there for it" she began but chad cut her off 

"anna stop, if they get hurt when you're not there it has nothing to do with you. you can't stop it from happening and they won't blame you because you're in the hospital. You got attacked why can't you get that?" he asked her and she stared at him 

"you don't get it" she said and he sighed 

"i don't so try explaining it to me anna. tell me everything, tell me why you would blame yourself. why this has anything to do with you and why you feel like you have to stop the whole thing from happening even if you can't" he said and she leaned her head against the pillow 

"I just I feel like it's my job to protect them. When me and Tara were younger, and her parents were fighting. I would go over to her house and I would hold her or I would put headphones in her ears or I would take her out of the house, and we could go for walks and ignore everything. when Wes's dad stop showing up, I had my dad go to everything that Wes did. Me And Liv were never that close and when she joined the friend group, I remember because she was on her period and she asked me for a pad and she thought I was going to judge her for it and I just gave her one. You know how I feel about you and Mindy. We've always protect each other no matter what because that's who we are. When I'm not there, I can't protect them from the things in the world that are going to hurt them. I can't give her a Band-Aid to stop the bleeding, I can't put headphones in taras ears. i can't help wes because hes dead now. I can't do anything because im in the hospital and not out there protecting them like i usually do" she ranted and he stared at her 

"i never realized how much you did for us" he told her and she shrugged 

"i never told anyone how much i did. i let you all think that i was wonderwomen and perfect because you all needed me to protect you and i would do that no matter what" she stated and he stared at her 

"you know you are wonder women right?" he asked 

"what do you mean?" she asked 

"you do everything, you take care of us, you make us smile, you do your homework, you work at the shelter, you feed us, you listen to us rant. you do everything all at once and you still manage to be alive and breathing. You have made me realize how strong people are even when they hide it. Anna I never knew you did so much for us, but you did and you always have. That's what I mean by your wonder woman. wonder woman is strong and powerful but she's also smart and beautiful and takes care of herself and everyone around. You are wonder woman." he told her and she smiled 

"thanks chad" she said and he nodded. 

"anna i want you to know how much you mean to us. thats why im here with you right now because i want you to be safe but i also want you to know that someone cares. someone who isn't your mom or dad cares about you and wants to make sure that you're safe. by the way, where are your parents?" he asked and they heard a knock at the door. they looked up and saw annas parents right there 

"speak of the angels" he said and he got up as he unlocked the doors and let them in. 

"anna baby, oh my god, are you okay?" her mother asked as she rushed into the room and anna smiled at her mom as chad sighed 

"ill leave you guys alone" he said and anna turned to him 

"chad! stay, please" she excaimed and he nodded as he sat down and he watched the family of three reunite with each other. he knew that anna needed more support then just him right now and if that meant her parents and him , he was okay with that and he just had to be okay with that.

but heres where the ending comes

i haven't updated in 11 days and i felt bad so heres this. act 2 is coming after chapter ten and chapter ten will be them finding out things and that angst so yay!
