Unlikely early bird

The next morning a bruise less Mä'zu wakes up before everyone else which is weird, because she's not and will never be a morning Na'vi.

Mä'zu's mind is pretty foggy from just waking up and she blinks a few times to clear her eyes before taking a minute to sit up in bed.

Mä'zu  looks around,  stretching and a a yawn escaping her lips.

Mä'zu's eyes then focus on Neteyam, who's still asleep.

Mä'zu  smiles warmly at Neteyam, admiring his features as he sleeps, arms wrapped around her.

"Good, I'll have some time to myself for once."  Mä'zu says to herself, not wanting to wake anyone up just yet.

However Jake and Neytiri wake up just then and are shocked to see Mä'zu awake before anyone else.

Seeing Mä'zu awake before everyone else is surprising.

Jake and Neytiri look at each other and then look back at Mä'zu.

"Mä'zu, you're awake." Jake says to her.

"How in the world did that happen?" Jake asks in genuine confusion.

"I don't know but I hate it and fully intend to get more sleep later." Mä'zu mumbles.

"You're telling me. It's like you're a whole new person." Jake mutters playfully.

Neytiri sits up, stretching her arms and rubbing a hand over her face while Jake keeps an arm wrapped around her waist.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you can go back to sleep later." Neytiri says to Mä'zu.

"Enjoy being awake and getting some time to yourself right now." Jake adds.

Neteyam, however, is still asleep and doesn't seem to be aware of anything so far. He just seems to be relaxed and content as he leans on Mä'zu.

Jake then glances over at Neteyam and Jake smiles when he sees that Neteyam is still asleep and resting in Mä'zu's arms.

Even Neytiri's eyes go wide a bit upon seeing just how asleep their son is.

"Oh, look at Neteyam." Neytiri whispers as she points to him.

"We're definitely not waking him up." Jake adds.

Mä'zu looks down at Neteyam, her heart swelling with affection. She gently runs her fingers through his hair, caressing his sleeping face, careful not to wake him.

"We'll leave him alone until he wakes up on his own." Neytiri says softly.

"I know he's my boyfriend and all now, but he's drooling on me. I feel violated." Mä'zu says half jokingly but her boyfriend  is in fact drooling on her.

Neytiri and Jake exchange amused glances at Mä'zu's comment before looking back at her.

"Well, it's not as if it's his fault." Jake says  as he smiles, referring to the drooling.

"Hmm..." Neteyam mumbles as he starts to wake up, his eyes slowly opening.

"Mm...?" Neteyam rumbles his voice raspy and dry and his accent very much present.

"Why, hello to you too." Mä'zu says softly, tail wagging and gently thumping against his side.

Neteyam blinks, his eyes now half closed. He looks up at Mä'zu, a blush rising on his face and he buries his face in her shoulder.

"Mm.." Neteyam says, groaning quietly, before giving her a soft hug and nuzzling her once again.

"Morning.." Neteyam says quietly, still quite lethargic.
