Jake and Neytiri hear their son's panicked cries and they exchange a look, knowing whatever it is must be serious, as Neteyam's screamed for them, so they run outside to meet him halfway.
Seeing Mä'zu and Kiri lying motionless in Neteyam and Rotxo's arms, Jake and Neytiri's hearts sink, fear coursing through their veins.
Jake and Neytiri exchange a brief look before guiding their son and Rotxo —who are still holding their respective girl— inside and Jake and Neytiri quickly pull out the roll up beds from beside the wall and unravel them, to which Rotxo and Neteyam place their respective girls on as Tsireya runs to get her mother and once Kiri is settled down peacefully, Rotxo heads out and waits outside.
Jake and Neytiri's faces mirror the anxiety etched across Neteyam's features, but they do their best to remain calm and focused on helping Mä'zu and Kiri.
Jake turns to Neteyam who's a worried mess for both Mä'zu and Kiri, and Tuk runs inside their marui.
"Son, what happened?" Jake asks, keeping his gaze on Neteyam.
Neteyam takes a few deep breaths, trying to steady himself enough to explain the situation. He looks down, feeling ashamed and guilty for not being able to protect his loved ones.
"We visited the Spirit Tree and everything seemed fine, and then suddenly we were ripped out of visiting our lost ones and Kiri and Mä'zu were having violent seizures." Neteyam explains.
This is.. odd. Mä'zu and Kiri have NEVER had seizures before, and the Spirit Tree has had many, many Na'vi connect to it: it's part of their culture, a way of how they connect to Eywa and how they visit their dead...
Neytiri's heart sinks as she listens to Neteyam's explanation. The thought of Mä'zu and Kiri having seizures, especially underwater, is absolutely terrifying. Neytiri tries to keep her anxiety and fear in check, but it's difficult.
Jake looks just as worried, and he turns to Neytiri for any kind of explanation, in case she's heard anything like this happening before.. but she's just as clueless as he is.
"Our connection to Eywa should never cause harm." Neytiri whispers, running a hand through her hair in frustration.
"This... this isn't normal." Neytiri adds.
Jake nods in agreement, his mind racing with possible explanations, but coming up blank. He looks between the two unconscious girls on the beds as Tuk crouches beside Kiri and Neteyam crouches beside Mä'zu.
Jake looks back at Neytiri, hesitating as he knows she isn't going to like what he has to suggest. But he can't stand by and do nothing as Mä'zu and Kiri clearly need help.
"I'll contact Norm and Max, maybe they can use their equipment to see what's going on with them." Jake says carefully, knowing his mate's strong hatred to Sky people.
Neytiri looks at Jake, her eyes filled with conflict. She wants to refuse, wants to keep the other Sky People away from her children but she knows they need all the help they can get for Mä'zu and Kiri.
"Fine." Neytiri says, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jake nods, understanding Neytiri's reluctance but also appreciating her willingness to put her hatred aside for the sake of Mä'zu and Kiri, he then walks off to the side, using his private channels on his comms to communicate with Norm and Max, explaining the situation to them and the location of Awa'atlu.
Neytiri kneels beside Kiri, gently stroking her hair as Tuk hugs Kiri's hand close while Neteyam stays by Mä'zu's side, still holding her hand tightly against his heart.
