Background:
Moryana was born to retired footballer Kwan Seung-Han and high school teacher Kim Yoo-Jung. Moryana is the middle child out of 5 kids; her older brother Kwan Ju-Yeon, her older sister Kwan Tae-Yeon and her younger twin siblings Kwan Ji-Ah and Kwan Ji-Yong. She is apart of an affluent family due to her fathers football career and during 2008, her family moved to Los Angeles, California, USA as her father joined the MLS team LA Galaxy where she stayed in the city and first learnt English until 2010 when her family made the move to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania as her father joined Philadelphia Union where he'd travel with the family sometimes from Pittsburg to Philadelphia.
In 2015, Moryana took part in her school's production of Beauty and the Beast and she was the role of Belle for 3 out of 4 shows to which she was Mrs Potts for 1 out of 4 shows. At the musical production, a scout from Fantiago was present and came to Moryana and asked her to come to Korea for an audition. She agreed but failed at her final audition for Fantiago in 2016. At this time once she was 10 minutes away from her hotel, a SM scout appeared and asked her to audition and she passed on the first time and offered a contract.
