The next day, it was finally time for the rematch against Jabberwock to start.
A lot of fans were there to watch. Not only in hopes for Jabberwock to lose, but also to see the incredible team that had been assembled to play against them. For the first time in a long time, the Generation of Miracles was going to play on the same team. It was big news!
Even with everything Jabberwock said against their basketball's style, it was still a popular sport in all of Japan and a lot of high-school and university basketball players were present to witness the match, especially the teammates of the boys playing. They wanted to see Jabberwock lose more than anything.
The building was vibrating with cheers from all the people there as the presenter announced the entrance of both teams into the court.
Vorpal Swords vs Jabberwock
This was surely going to be the coolest game of the entire year.
Everyone at the Vorpal Swords' bench was ready to start. The boys had focused looks on their faces and were ready to go.
The starters for the Vorpal Swords would be Akashi, Aomine, Kise, Midorima and Murasakibara. The Generation of Miracles right at the beginning.
The boys went to line-up in front of their opponents in the court before the tip-off and the crowd cheered loudly when the presenter said their name.
On the other hand, everyone booed when he introduced Jabberwock. But the rude guys were far from affected by it. They were only interested in smirking and provoking their opponents, eager to destroy them.
At the bench, Kuroko, Kagami, Hyuuga, Takao, and Wakamatsu watched with determined looks. Next to them was (Y/N), Riko and Momoi. And lastly there was Kagetora, their head-coach.
Everyone had their eyes set on the team ready to start playing and get their respect back.
The referee walked with the ball to the center of the court for the tip-off. Murasakibara and Silver positioned themselves.
Then finally, the referee threw the ball in the air and the game started.
Murasakibara and Silver jumped, but the purple haired boy jumped higher and got to the ball first. He sent it towards Akashi who started to dribble it.
The red haired advanced with the ball while dribbling it between his legs and avoiding his opponents with dexterity. It was no secret that Akashi was a natural born streetball player. As if all his other talents weren't enough . . .
"So awesome." (Y/N) commented as she had her enamored eyes fixed on Akashi.
Riko turned towards her.
"(L/N)-chan, it's too early to start with that." She lectured the younger girl and Momoi giggled at them.
Akashi kept going with the ball. When Nash and Allen got in front of him to mark him together, the red haired stopped and threw the ball over their heads towards the basket.
Aomine ran by them all and jumped. He grabbed the ball midair and swiftly and expertly finished Akashi's move by dunking it.
The Vorpal Swords scored the first two points of the match.
Jabberwock couldn't hide their surprise at their opponents' talent.
Seeing how they were looking at them with hard gazes, Aomine turned towards them.
