The days went by quickly.
Seirin wasn't exactly eager for this specific day to come, but here they were.
The day for them to say goodbye to their red haired ace and friend came at last.
The team was gathered at the airport, seeing Kagami off.
Kagami turned towards all of them and bowed respectfully.
"I'll be on my way, now. Thank all of you for your support." Kagami said as they all smiled at him.
"You don't have to thank us." Hyuuga said nicely. "Have fun in America, Kagami!" Hyuuga added with a smile.
"Yeah, work hard, Kagami!" Koganei contributed.
"We're all going to stay here and cheer for you. So do your best there, Kagami." Riko said nicely and the boy smile at them all.
He couldn't believe he was parting with them. But most of all, he couldn't believe he was parting with the boy and girl that stood there looking at him with proud expressions on their faces.
Kuroko took a step forward and reached his hand out for Kagami to shake.
"Kagami-kun, good luck. Become a great NBA player soon." The blue haired boy said with an encouraging smile.
Kagami smiled at him too and shook his hand. They took a few seconds to let go.
When they did, (Y/N) approached him next.
"You will always have our support, Kagami. I hope you have fun and that you make your dream a reality." She told him with upmost honesty and Kagami let out an emotional breath.
After that, the red haired said goodbye again, turned around and walked away.
As he got further and further away, (Y/N) and Kuroko still stood there, watching him go until he turned a corner.
The others had already walked away to wait outside, leaving them there as they knew the pair of friends still needed a bit more time.
(Y/N) was the first to break the silence between them. She took a deep breath and spoke without taking her wet (E/C) eyes away from the way Kagami went.
"He's gone, Tetsuya." She said sadly, before sniffling. "All this time and he's simply gone. I wish I had said more. For some reason, this goodbye feels so incomplete." She added as she caught a few stray tears.
"Yes." Kuroko agreed, his voice unable to hide his emotions.
He sounded like that was all he had the strength to say at that moment.
(Y/N) sighed heavily and finally looked at him.
"What do we do, now?" she asked softly.
Kuroko stayed quiet for a few seconds.
Then, the boy smiled at the girl. He stretched his arm towards her for her to take and the girl chuckled softly as she put her arm around his and they started walking away.
"I guess, we do the same as Kagami-kun and move on to the next level." The boy suggested and the girl smiled as they walked slowly.
What they didn't know was that as the two friends had stayed there talking, Kagami had stopped walking and started to think about everything.
The red haired's eyes filled with tears as he thought about his two friends.
