The memory haunts me. After an endless amount of times of trying to fall asleep again, I notice the sun starts to rise. I sigh. There's no point in trying to go back to sleep now.

I get up from my cot, and immediately think of Newt. I walk over to the lunch hall to fetch him some breakfast.

When I get to the Slammer, I stop dead in my tracks. I notice a girl is already there at the barred window, handing him a tray of food. It's Rachel. In the silence, Rachel laughs.

I raise an eyebrow, then slowly back away. Looks like Newt doesn't need to be checked on. I turn around and walk away.

I return to my duties, when Lucy walks up to me.

"Hey, I know you're busy and all, but Beth wanted you. She kept calling your name," Lucy says, gesturing towards the Holding Hut.

"Um, okay," I say, then stop what I'm doing any go to assist Beth.

I walk into her room, confusion swirling in my mind. What I see is something I've never seen before, believe it or not. I'm usually not involved in these situations.

Beth's face is covered with sweat, and sickly green veins run along her body. I have to stop myself from gagging. Her eyes move under her eyelids as if she has a horrible dream and can't wake up.

"Beth?" I call out, inching my way closer to her side.

Suddenly, her eyes dart open and they make contact with mine. She screams my name, and then jumps up from her bed and tackles me to the ground.

She claws at my face, each scratch feeling like fire. I wrestle with her on the ground, until someone intervenes and pulls Beth off of me.

"You did this!" she yells repeatedly, a hint of lunacy in her eyes.

"Stop, Beth!" Lucy grunts, trying to pull her off. "Someone help!"

A few other people storm in, and handle the situation. Meanwhile, Beth takes every effort to try and get to me. I sit in the corner of the room, nearly shaking.

They take her into another room, and I somehow stand up. Lucy comes back in. "I'll clean your scratches up," she says, then sits me on a chair.

After my scratches are tended to, I am told to go back to my shack while Lucy explains what happened to Harriet and Sonya.

On my way back, I decide to go visit Newt. I walk up to the barred window of the Slammer, to find that he's asleep. I turn around, and begin to walk away when a voice says, "Wait."

I turn and face Newt, and sits on his bed, awake. His eyes meet mine, then they shift to the right, then the left. Soon his pupils are dancing.

"What happened?" he asks, getting up from his cot to get a better look.

"Oh, some girl attacked me, no big deal," I say, then shrug.

"Why would she bloody do that?" Newt asks, his eyebrows arched. His face is so close to mine that I'm tempted to lean in and kiss him. But I don't.

"I don't know," I say, then look away.

"Well I'm glad you're okay."

I look back up at him, his brown eyes staring into mine. He looks concerned, and I can tell that so many questions float around in his mind.

"Oh, and why didn't you visit me this morning?" Newt asks, a slight smile playing on his lips.

"Because, you looked busy with Rachel," I simply say, and look to the side.

Newt laughs.

I glance at him. "What?" I ask.

"You don't think you're, perhaps, jealous?"
