I had recently applied to K.I.S.S Korean Independence School of Seoul but it had been a few days since I called and it made me anxious. Thoughts of worry pondered in my head until my phone rang. I hurriedly picked up my phone hoping that it was K.I.S.S who called and not a spam. Fortunately for me, it was K.I.S.S who called and I wasted no time answering it.
"Hello?"

"Hello, this is Miss Moreau I presume?"

"Yes, that's me!"

"We would like to inform you that you have been accepted to K.I.S.S. but you have to be present within 48 hours starting tomorrow."

"Oh okay, thank you!"

I hung up the phone and tossed it on my bed then I sprinted out of my room to my parents.

"Papa, j'ai été accepté à K.I.S.S !"
(Dad, I got accepted to K.I.S.S.!)
"Vraiment ? c'est incroyable chérie!"
(Really? That's amazing, sweetie!) He replied.
I looked around the room trying to find my mother but she was nowhere to be found.

"Où est maman?" I asked
(Where is mama?)

"Elle est allée au magasin faire les courses. elle reviendra bientôt."
(She went to the store to buy some groceries. She will be back soon.)

I nodded my head in acknowledgment.

"tu devrais commencer à préparer tes vêtements et à réserver ton vol maintenant puisque tu dois être là demain"
(you should start packing your clothes and booking your flight now since you have to be there tomorrow.)

"Ok papa"

I scurried off to my room and dug through my closet for my suitcase. Once I acquired it, I began stuffing it with essentials like clothes, hygiene, etc. It took me around 45 minutes to an hour to finish packing. I didn't pack as much as I would usually but I knew I was going to end up buying stuff in Korea anyway so I don't think I would need as much. When I was finished packing I decided to lie in bed and scroll on my phone in the meantime. About 30 minutes later I heard the front door open. Assuming it was my mom I sprinted downstairs to tell her about the news.

"ただいま。"
(I'm home.)

"おかえり、ママ!"
(Welcome home, mama!)

"お父さんと楽しい一日を過ごしましたか?"
(Did you have a good day with your dad?)

"はい!"
(yes!)

"今日K.I.S.Sから電話があり、受け入れてもらいました。"
(I received a call from K.I.S.S today and they accepted me.)

She congratulated me and told me she was proud, which boosted my self-confidence a bit. My mom can be a hard person to please so hearing her say she was proud of me did something. After our conversation, I traveled back up the stairs into my room. I read a few chapters of one of my favorite books, I crocheted, and I even cleaned up my room considering how it looked like a rat's nest.

I tried to be as productive as I could because in all actuality I am the laziest person alive. All I do in my free time is scroll on my phone. I didn't think it would take me 16 years to realize how much I should and could be doing in my free time. As of right now, I am currently trying to fix my habits but you know what they say, "Old habits die hard.". Though I feel like I might be getting somewhere, who knows, that's just a feeling. Soon the sun began to settle and it was time for me to take a shower because I was feeling a bit icky and I knew that feeling would only become greater the more I waited.

After I finished my shower I threw on my favorite white nightgown. I slid on some frilly socks and walked to my sink to start my midnight skincare. While I was doing that I got a whiff of something delicious. My mom must be cooking dinner though it does seem a little early considering it was only 6:30. Usually she'd cook around 7:00 but it's whatever. I heard my mom call me as I finished lathering myself in lotion and spraying myself with perfume.

I walked down the stairs with steadiness to make sure I didn't slip. I sat down at the dining table and patiently waited for my food. My mom walked over and placed my meal in front of me. She made me fish with a side of miso soup, natto beans, and sliced cucumbers. I thanked her for the food and started to chow down. She then called down my father and told him dinner was ready. During dinner, my family almost never talked. It was always quiet and not that I hated it but sometimes it made me feel like we were all just strangers living in the same space.

When I was finished I washed my dishes and stuck them in the dishwasher. I told my parents goodnight and went up the stairs to my room. Once I got to my room and threw myself onto my bed. I squirmed and wiggled until I was comfortable in my bed. I set my alarm for 5:30 am because it takes me a while to get up in the morning especially that early and it would take me 30-45 minutes to get to the airport. I had to get there by 7:15 am or else I would miss my flight. I decided to get my beauty rest in now while the night was still young so I wouldn't fuss about getting up in the morning. In case you have noticed I am not a morning person.
