I got myself a coffee from coffee town. I am so sleep deprived I'm surprised I even made it there. My eyes are red and have dark circles around them. I didn't bother with makeup today and threw my hair up in a messy bun.I got to school a few minutes late and got a tardy slip. We have started reading a book in English and I could not keep my eyes open. I keep rereading the same sentence over and over again. All the words are jumbled together and blurry.
I didn't realize I fell asleep until the bell went off, scaring the bajeezies out of me. I jump in my chair, looking at all the kids packing up to leave. "Ms. Woods, can I see you for a moment?" Mrs. Jean asks. I grab my backpack and walk to her desk.
"Yes, Mrs. Jean?" Am I in trouble? "Is... everything going okay at home?" She asks with a concerned look on her face. "Yes?" I say more as a question. I feel weird, like I got caught doing something and lied about it.
"I'm asking because you always seem tired. Are you not getting enough sleep at home?" I wipe my sweaty hands on my black jeans.
Why does she actually seem concerned? My teachers back at Elk-ridge couldn't have cared less.
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize I fell asleep." I start picking at the skin around my fingernails. "Oh, no dear, it's okay. I'm just concerned, that's all." I blink a few times to get rid of the water forming in my eyes. I hope she isn't too angry with me.
"I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean to." She continues to look at me with concern, something foreign flashes through her eyes.
"It's alright. Here." She hands me a note for my next class. "Sorry to make you late. Give your teacher this. Have a good rest of your day, Aven. And remember. I'm always here if you need to talk." She says with a genuine smile on her face.
I grab the note from her and put it in my pocket. "Thanks Mrs. Jean, have a good day too." I give her a small smile before heading to my next class. Thats strange, I've never had a teacher notice or care like that before.

I get to my next class ten minutes late. I give an annoyed Mr. Owens my note before he tells me to sit down. I feel like he doesn't like me very much. I didn't see Grayson in class when I took my usual seat.
We did a lab today, so I wasn't tempted to fall asleep since we were moving the whole time. The rest of school went by painfully slow. I took a nap during lunch instead of eating so I can have some energy during practice.

"You look like shit. No offense." Nora says, walking into the girls locker room. "Yeah, are you okay?" Kristina asks, sitting beside me on a bench. "I wasn't able to sleep last night." I don't want to bother anyone about the texts from last night. They wouldn't understand and I don't want to explain why I'm so scared about a simple message.
"I don't know what I would do if I couldn't sleep." Nora says while putting a sports bra on. "Trust me, it's not fun." I know if you don't sleep it can cause some serious issues, I need to get over my nightmares so I can finally sleep through the night.
We make our way to the field and practice for the next hour and a half.

Once I get home I go straight to the couch in the living room and instantly fall asleep. I didn't bother taking my bag off my shoulder or my sandals off my feet. I just need to sleep.
Hello babes. Sorry this chapter is so short, we just needed a filler chapter.
Does anyone deal with insomnia?
What do you think Mrs. Jean was thinking?
Okayyyy byeeeee.
