It had been a car accident they said, the old man must have been crossing the street and the drunk driver hit him, ran over his old and weak body with his car. Though it doesn't explain the blood vessels that popped in his eyes and the black veins that appeared out of his mouth as most of the injury was done to his legs and abdomen but they never got to investigate it because his wife refused to let them run an autopsy on his body and wanted to bury him as the brutally ended corpse he was. The man was arrested without further investigation because it was evident he was the killer, or so they believed.

A week passed, Jimin's grandfather was long buried by now and his grandmother had been losing her mind, wakes up in the middle of the night to call out for her dead husband and it ended with her breaking down into long fits of wails. His distant aunt and her family from his maternal side had come over to stay, and help them with things such as the funeral and the rest of the living situation because the two were devastated. Jimin didn't cry, didn't shed a single tear, he had been frozen since he discovered his grandfather had died

they didn't let him see his state and he only got to see his face when they were burying him, didn't cry when the came back from the graveyard. and hadn't cried since. he just sits in his room on the ground and stares blankly at a wall, his older distant cousin often visited him in his room, they weren't friends but knew each other enough to be a comforting source, he tried to console Jimin,  help him cry so his heart would feel light but the blond won't response to him, didn't even look at him, he would just stare at the wall next to his bed and stare and stare with no emotion for hours

no one knew what was going on inside of him but they could tell it was a catastrophe, Jungkook and Jin took off from school for a few days and came to spend some time with him, the other friends were busy with exams but they did their best to come by whenever they could and sat with him in silence. some helped the aunt and her husband doing the errands and chores while some just hugged Jimin and tried their best to help him eat something or even get some sleep.

Sometimes he'd leave to hide in the bathroom for a few hours, not from his friends but from himself and come out completely wet with his clothes dripping water before he sat down next to his bed and continued his routine of staring at the wall. It was so unhealthy that his friends had grown utterly worried for him but they could do nothing but try and sit with him to take some weight off of him. He hadn't slept in two days and now his grandmother came to visit his room and asked his friends to leave momentarily who obliged while she plopped down next to him

she had been grieving too, but she knew she couldn't lose her grandson too. She had told him it wasn't his fault, told him that despite the fact that his grandfather was mad at him he still loved him all that much, told him that he needed to eat and stay healthy so his grandfather could rest in peace too but he didn't budge at her words, even when she started crying and sobbing while holding him in her embrace. He sat stubbornly, eyes glazed with scarlet, bags underneath them while he stared at the wall with his grandmother shaking his body with the weight of her wails

He didn't know who took her out of the room but it was a feminine voice so it must've been his aunt, she had sat down next to him too, didn't say a word but just held his hand and ran her fingers through his hair and if it weren't for his dazed state he would've sobbed because of how similar her hands felt in his hair, how much they felt like his mother's whose voice he can't even recall any longer. She left and many suns drowned, many days slipped, but Jimin never moved. He was aware of Jin  and Jungkook joining him to stare at the wall

aware of the whispers they'd quietly mutter to him about how he was okay and how everything would be fine but he knew it wouldn't be, his grief weighed heavier than he could ever bear that is why he had grown numb.
