With this Rose petal blindfold
My image of you is so clear
The eyes that shine like diamonds
The smiles for only me to see
The parts of you only kept for me
The way I make you happy
Every time you leave me
Is another petal falling
Every time you hurt me
Is another petal wilting
With the Rose petal blindfold ripped away
My image of you becomes distorted
Your eyes won't look at me
Your smiles are only frowns
Your only part left for me is gone
Your sadness is the only thing I see
With every rose petal gone
One quick glance to realize
I was protecting myself from the truth of it all
How you really see me
Every time you leave me
