Biography
During the series, Rowan was shown to be quite literally an outcast in a school of outcasts. He was a loner and not very talented when it came to extracurricular activities. This was shown in Chapter I: Wednesday's Child Is Full of Woe, where he is easily beaten by Bianca Barclay in a fencing match. He feels dejected and retreats to the Nightshades' library later that day. It is here that he rediscovers his mother's prophetic drawing of Wednesday Addams and Joseph Crackstone dueling. He is driven crazy by his telekinetic powers, and he is only driven further by the discovery of the drawing. Rowan is convinced that he is the one who needs to kill Wednesday to prevent the prophecy from happening and stop the school from being destroyed. He makes two attempts at taking Wednesday's life. Firstly, he pushes a gargoyle off of the roof and only narrowly misses hitting Wednesday, who is saved by Xavier Thorpe leaping and shoving her out of the way. At the Harvest Festival, Wednesday follows Rowan out into the woods because she saw his death in a prophetic vision. Instead of reacting positively to Wednesday trying to save him, he gets even more frightened and lashes out. He attacks Wednesday and uses his telekinetic powers to pin her to a tree, then reveals that he was the one who tried to kill her with the gargoyle. He tells Wednesday that his mother told him that it was his destiny to kill the girl in the picture, and that Wednesday looks exactly like that girl. Before he can kill her, though, the monster appears and mauls Rowan, killing him.
