"You're mine, Princess."

The words barely registered in Nicholas' mind before he turned around and slammed the disgusting man's head into the table.

The man slumped forward and fell limply to the ground with a thud. The bar manger looked frightened by the look in Nick's eyes, probably explaining why he did nothing to help the man on the ground.People instantly swarmed the unconscious man but Nick stepped around them and looked into the short girls piercing blue eyes.

"Are you okay?" he said, sympathetically.

"I didn't need your help." She spat.

Nick's expression changed to surprise, before quickly morphing into a smug smile.

"Oh you didn't? Looks to me that man was about to abduct you and possibly hurt you and you weren't able to escape him." Nick shot back.

"Whatever, I didn't need Mr Hero to save me." She shot at him, once again.

"You know some girls would jump into my arms thanking me and offering some form of repayment." Nick said, crossing his arms and staring at her intently, still smugly smiling.

"Maybe, I'm not some girls." The woman said defiantly, and then stomped off leaving Nick standing there, shocked, and wondering, about the stubborn woman.
