Let's play pretend,
You'd say as a kid.
I'll be the hero,
You'd say a a kid.
Let's skip forward,
To when we're in the big world.
College and smiles.
It's the best days of our lives,
They'd say.
Let's play pretend,
Here and now.
I'm okay,
I'll say.
I'm not a kid,
I know that.
But for the rest of time,
I'll be stuck.
Saying,
Let's play pretend.
