The police was trying to get to the bottom of what'd happened but it was hard because the parents were up in arms.
The superior officer whistled sharply. "One at a time!"
"Where is my daughter?!" Ellie freaked out.
Erica was right with her. "Where is my son?!"
Heather Soltero, Becky's mother, was just as irate. "What kind of school just lets their students walk off?!"
"I assure you the children can't be far if they wandered off!" Principal Conrad could see the lawsuit coming. "Let's just review the tapes and see which direction they went in!"
The police officer thought that was a smart idea. "Retrieve the tapes."
Principal Conrad turned the monitor around and began rewinding the security footage to when school let out then hit play.
Vic, Lene and Becky were clearly shown waiting together until a woman walked up to them.
"Hey!" Pia shouted. "I know her!"
Principal Conrad stopped the tapes.
"Who is she?" The officer asked.
"I don't know her name but she knocked on the car window and asked for a pen and paper." Pia spoke quickly. "When I reached for it, it felt like something hit me and when I woke up, everyone was gone."
"Do you think this woman assaulted you?"
"No. I-" Pia thought about it. "But why? Why me?"
"Because." Ellie's mind worked quickly. "She was after our children!"
Nate hugged her tightly. "No. Why? She couldn't. No."
Erica wailed into her husband's chest. "She kidnaped our children!"
"Play the rest of the tapes." The officer commanded roughly. He pulled out his radio to call for backup.
Principal Conrad played the rest of the video but it only showed the children leaving with the lady.
The officer shook his head grimly. "Yeah, I need an analyst for some security footage to see if we can get a license plate number."

The detective assigned to the case sat the parents down for more questioning. "Would anyone have reason to abduct the children?"
Erica cried heavily. "No! He's only five years old! He hasn't done anything to anyone!"
Heather scowled. "I have many enemies but I don't have the niceties to believe they'd be smart enough to kidnap my child."
Ellie couldn't breathe. "I'm new to this town! Who would I have pissed off enough to want to kidnap my baby?!"
Nate frowned. "What about Trevor?"
"Trevor?" The detective scribbled furiously. "Who's Trevor?"
"Trevor Scott." Nate felt rage build up. "He's out on bail."
"What?!" Ellie didn't know that.
"Bail for what?" The detective whistled sharply.
"He raped me." Ellie whispered.
Erica became unglued. "And they let him go?!"
The detective could see their wheels spinning. If this Trevor Scott was a rapist, he could be a child predator as well. "Please calm yourselves."
"Don't tell me to calm down! This boy rapes someone and he's out on bail and now he's taken our children!"
Dan Teller hugged his wife. "Erica, breathe."
