When we wrapped up to video shoot last night, I had already set my mind in motion. I was able to pull Rashad and Dada to the side to get some of her favorite things. She loved roses and chocolate so I made sure I put in a express order for that. I was also able to book her favorite restaurant. Since I knew Aaliyah didn't really like the paps all in her business, I decided to buy out the restaurant for that night, just so that we didn't have to worry about anyone else interfering. I was pulling out all the stops for tonight. Lock came in the house and sat beside me.
L: What's good man? Look like you thinking hard bout some shit
D: I'm trying to get everything lined up for tonight
L: What go down bro?
D: I got a date tonight
L: Word? Who's the shorty?
D: (big smile) Aaliyah man
L: (spits up drink) Whhhaaattt???
D: (laughs) Yeah man
L: (smiles/shaking head) I meant to ask you about that earlier. What was going on? Looked a bit tense for a minute
D: Nothing man, just a little tension cause of all this media attention
L: Word. Shorty looks like she hates that shit
D: Forreal but I mean, can you blame her? The damn paps have always been vicious when it comes to her
L: Yeah man, anything with Aaliyah's name attached to it is always the talk of the town. So what you got planned?
D: SO far, dinner and a movie. I gotta think of something else
L: Why not go to that new theme park over on the South Side?
D: (shaking head) Naw man, too out in the open. Asking for trouble.
L: I feel you. Damn man. My boy done hit the jackpot! (dusts off his shoulder)
D: (laughs) You crazy man!
He got up and left and I went back to planning. I needed something that was going to make her smile. Damn, what can you do for THE Aaliyah?
*** LATER THAT NIGHT ***
I was standing in front of the restaurant with my bodyguard waiting for Aaliyah 'nem to arrive. I felt a flutter in my stomach when the thought finally hit me, I was going on a date with the woman of my dreams. Damn! It was almost too good to be true. But I knew it was forreal when I seen them pull up. When she got out out the car, it took my breath away. She's gorgeous.
A: (smiles) Hi
D: (smiles back) Hi. This is for you (hands her roses and chocolate)
A: (big smile) Aww thank you! You got my favorite!
D: You're welcome gorgeous (holds out hand) Shall we?
A: (takes hand) Yes, we shall
