"Marin, this is quite a special day for you!", Tikki exclaimed, as her owner was folding clothes. "Yes, Tikki! It sure is.", Marin said.

He finished folding, as he looks to his cellphone. "Hmm, still no call...", Marin continued.

He goes up to his balcony to look down from above.

[Scene: Amelie's room]

Amelie was frantically searching her room for a potential gift, running around in a frenzy. "Whoa, slow down there!", Plagg exclaimed, trying to keep up with Amelie's frantic pace.

"I'm trying to find a gift for Marin!", Amelie replied hurriedly, not even sparing a glance for the kwami. Plagg raised an eyebrow.

"Alright, but why all the running around?", Plagg asked. "Arlo invited me to Marin's birthday party, and I need to find a gift quickly!", Amelie explained, rummaging through her drawers in a rush.

"Relax, Amelie. It's not that big of a deal.", Plagg reassured her. "When's the party? In a week? A few days?", Plagg asked.

Amelie finally turned to face Plagg, her expression filled with worry. "No, it's in a few hours. Arlo asked me this morning!", Amelie replied.

Plagg's ears drooped sympathetically. "Oh, that does sound like... tight.", Plagg admitted.

"Exactly! That's why I need to find a gift for him right away!", Amelie exclaimed. "That's a shame, I was just about to give you something.", Plagg said, sassily, pretending to inspect his paws.

"Oh really, Plagg?", Amelie replied, turning her head away from her belongings. "A kwami specialty.", Plagg stated.

"Oh, that's amazing! What is it?", Amelie asked, walking towards him. Plagg performed a small dance in the air while humming, then spat something into Amelie's hands.

"Eugh...", Amelie just said. She looked shocked and slightly disgusted.

"T-Thank you, Plagg. What is it?", Amelie asked, as she forced a smile. "A Kwagatama. It's a significant symbol of friendship among us kwamis. We take a strand of hair from our Miraculous holder and combine it with the hairs of all the previous Miraculous holders. Then, we grow a magical resin using them for a few months.", Plagg explained.

"And all kwamis have to spit it out of their mouths?", Amelie asked. "Yep!", Plagg confirmed.

Amelie looked disgusted at it again, only to see that it had transformed into a beautiful black charm. "Wow! It looks so charming, Plagg.", Amelie said, before a thought struck her.

"Charming-CHARM! Plagg, you're a genius!", Amelie continued. "Why, thank you!", Plagg said, pondering the compliment.

"But for what?", Plagg asked, confused. "That 'lucky charm' necklace Marin gave me for the gaming tournament.", Amelie said, pulling it out of her pocket.

"I can simply make one for him!", Amelie continued. She reached into a box and retrieved a chain and some beads, then began crafting Marin's gift.

[Scene: Marin's room]

"Arlo should have called me by now. We were supposed to take his little sister to the 'dentist' at four o'clock today.", Marin said, mimicking air quotes around the word "dentist" and winking mischievously. "Do you humans always celebrate your birthday by going to the dentist?", Tikki asked.

"No, of course not, Tikki. It's a secret code! They're actually throwing me a surprise birthday party!", Marin said. "But how can it be a surprise if you know about it?", Tikki asked.
