Zander opened the back door and it had to be at least three hundred people that peppered the open land.
Marley walked off down the deck to soon be running into her friends arms.
I went to walk down the deck but, Zander pulled me back by my forearm.
"You should of known your brother would host this." He grinned closing the door behind me.
"Zander, you've followed me and watched over me but, I've never asked you why."
He seemed surprised by my question.
"Why do you follow me? Does my brother pay you or do you have no life?"
He seemed to be unprepared for my question.
Zander sighed and let go of my forearm. He sat down at a nearby table.
"I feel like I owe you..." he paused.
"Why? I've never met you before in my life." I said, sitting down across the table.
"I know what happened to your parents...."
"So do I, they were attacked while they were on the beach. They never took me on vacations but, this one I would never see them return...." I trailed off.
"That's what the police told you, they didn't just get attacked by an animal on a beach at sunset. It was wolves." He said.
I was stunned, my parents were.... killed my werewolves.
"Camille, your brother hid this from you for a reason."
"What possible reason does he have to hide how our parents died from me?" I cried.
Before I knew it tears fell from my eyes onto the wooden table.
"He didn't want you to be afraid of werewolves....."
"Why because he is one." I interrupted him.
He shook his head. "Because your parents were werewolves."
I shook my head. "That's not possible, how am I human then." I cried.
"You are...."
"Don't you dare say it, all I've ever known was this life. How could I be.... adopted?"
He huffed. "Your brother saw no problem loving his adopted sister because she isn't blood related."
I stood up. "I can't hear anymore."
And it hit me, is Ginger really blood related to me?
"What about Ginger?" I was afraid to ask.
"She was adopted, you two are twins."
Twins? But, we look nothing alike?
I was losing it my tears clouded up my vision as I stared down at the floor.
"We look nothing alike."
"You guys are fraternal twins."
"And how do you come into play? I sighed. "Why do you owe me?"
His ocean blue eyes stared up at me, looking at me as if he should really tell me.
"Zander?"
He stood up and grabbed both my forearms in his warm hands.
"I was your parents protector, they were the Luna and alpha of the pack that your brother now has. I failed because they told me to leave them and have some fun for once. I did as told but, I should never of left. Little did I know, werewolves were waiting for me to leave."
"Wait, your sister told me, you protected your family for years?"
He huffed. "So you met her, after that incident I started being paranoid. I protected them after the accident and before the accident." He paused. "I didn't tell my parents that I was looking out for the Alpha and Luna, I told them I was going on vacation with a friend."
Why did he hide it, maybe his parents wouldn't allow him to do it?
"Zander, you don't owe me anything."
I put my hand on his shoulder. "You respected my parents and protected them when you could be like other teens, you even lied to your own parents to look out for them."
He bobbed his head. "You didn't fail them, they probably thought they were interrupting your teen life."
He shook his head. "After I heard them.... I didn't do.. anything."
I grabbed his face. "Don't blame yourself, because of that your here. If they could take out an alpha and his Luna then you would be dead too."
He grabbed my hand with his, "when I saw you, I knew I could redeem myself."
I nodded. "Zander, thanks."
He looked at me with confusion. "I didn't do anything."
"Yes you are, your protecting me."
He embraced me and I laid my head on his chest. We both stayed like that for a little until I pulled back.
"See you, Zander." I smiled threw tears.
He smiled back and I opened the back door, he walked off probably to see who shows up for this get together.
Ginger was waiting for me at the bottom of the deck stairs.
Will I ever be able to tell her the truth?
I ran into her arms and she hugged onto me.
"Marley told me I would see you at here."
"Well it's finally good to see you again." I told her. "After all that's happened, I've missed you the most."
She smiled at me. "I've missed you too sis."
We walked towards the gathering and little did I know, Drake wasn't joining Ginger and I.
"What are you thinking about?" She asked as we weaved threw groups of people.
"Nothing, just how Drake isn't running to your side." I said.
"Drake is with Jaxson at this meeting." She said rolling her eyes. "He wouldn't let me come with him so I waited for you."
"Soo, as you should know this is our brother's pack."
"Yes, I was just brought here by Henson." I huffed.
"Oh, yeah I heard about that. Everyone was like our Luna has been kidnapped and I could bet money it was Henson." she laughed.
"Ginger what's so funny, you are lucky you're not me. Drake is the only man in your life."
She started to laugh again but louder.
"I know, Drake is..."
"Drake is what?" Drake asked coming up behind us.
Ginger grinned my way. "Drake is the only one I've ever loved." She finished.
Drake captured her lips and I sighed. Only if Jaxson and I were that close.....
She pulled away and looked at him funny. "Why are you out of your meeting so early?"
"Jaxson wanted to have an alpha talk to Henson. The guy who volunteered to have this event at his pack." Drake explained like it was no big deal.
"Shit." I muttered.
They looked my way. "Where is the meeting being held?" I asked Drake.
"In the pack house in the office. It's in the basement."
I took off in a run. I can't let Jaxson hurt Henson, now I know the truth. Henson has only ever loved me, never hated me. I owe him the truth about what's going on.
