Later that night, Adeline sat at her desk doing her homework that she had neglected during the day. She had spent about an hour working on reading a diary after dinner in her room. As she sat working on homework, her mind was more on getting her Aunt a gift. She couldn't believe it, she couldn't even focus on homework. Still, she forced herself to do at least some homework.
Half an hour later, Adeline had given up doing homework, it was nearly time for bed anyway. So she pulled out the diary again. She had found an entry that was near Christmas time and read eagerly, hoping for something useful.
What she found out wasn't useful, but it was interesting. Apparently back when Aunt Amy was about 13, she had somehow forgotten to put an essay she had written in her backpack, and she got failed, even though she had worked hard, and had she remembered to actually bring it, she liekly would have gotten an A+. Adeline felt bad for her Aunt about that. Though, as interesting as that was, it wasn't what she was looking for.
Adeline glanced at her alarm clock sitting on her desk, 10pm. She really should get to bed now, especially because she still had homework to do in the morning. She sighed, deciding to just go to bed. Then went to bed.
Shortly afterwards Grace came in to talk. They talked a good ten minutes about a book both of them had read recently. Finally, after Grace left, Adeline dropped off to sleep.
At 6:00 am, Adeline woke up to her alarm, she usually got up at 6:30, but she had homework to do, so she had set her alarm earlier. Adeline kept hoping to read through a diary at school, even brought a diary to school. But Adeline ended up having a lot of homework and worked long into the night doing it. So she didn't do any reading of a diary that day.
And she only had one day left!
