Jaipur, India

After a very long tiring wedding, the couple was taken to their room to rest. The family had booked the Presidential Suite for them to spend their first night in and as they entered, they paused in their tracks as they saw the entire room decorated with lights and flowers.

Meher rolled her eyes at the decoration and made her way to the bedroom.

There was only one bed. Before she could fight for the sleeping arrangements, she got her clothes which were neatly kept inside the wardrobe and went to the washroom to get changed.

Meanwhile, Kabir kept looking around in a daze, his mind replaying the events of the evening. He was a married man and his wife was Meher Mathur.

The girl he avoided his entire life was now his wife. He had no idea what to do. He went to the window's glass pane and watched the lit up hotel, feeling overwhelmed with all the sudden changes.

It was a single drop at first. But then the rest followed in a trail. He hadn't realised at first. But the wetness of his cheeks gave it away. Kabir touched his cheeks to wipe away the tears as he breathed aloud, thinking about all the past years and how it had changed everything.

Weddings were a sore spot for him. His mind could never shake off the image of them having a chat the previous night before Radhika died. After her, he felt he couldn't take the plunge.

Good people are always taken away earlier.

As the time passed, he constantly felt frustrated as he couldn't save the memories— day by day, all of it was slowly fading away, the images and only the sounds remained. He could hear her giggles, her calling him by his name but there were now rare times when he could picture her face, it felt as if she had gone too far, beyond his reach.

He took the shawl off from his shoulder and dropped it on the sofa. He grabbed a glass of water which was kept on the side and

chugged it all in a go.

He then went over to the cupboard and grabbed his night clothes when he noticed.

This presidential suite had one room. Which meant that it had one bed.

He sighed.

At that moment, Meher came out of the washroom, holding her truckload of a lehenga choli in one hand and jewellery in the other hand. She was dressed in her mini mouse loose t-shirt and polka dotted pajamas.

Kabir stared at her.

It was ugly as fuck.

Meher walked towards him, feeling relieved that she was finally free from the heavy clothing and even more thankful that Kabir had kept the door open for her. She gave him an impressed smile and like her brash self, she dumped everything inside the cupboard.
