P R O L O G U E

The outside world was a cold and scary place, with people who yearned to kill, to draw blood. Throughout history humans have been put against one another for the chance of ruling empires. There is a long line of women just like me who have been blessed with this ability, the ability of power. There is a difference between myself and those other women, they could be killed. I cannot. Not a single soul, no matter how good or powerful they simply cannot. My skin was like a burning flame no one could put out, somewhat like oxygenated fire when a window is cracked open, even the slightest. When the skin of another human touches mine they are set ablaze, they run, scream, cry, beg for someone to subdue their immense pain. The immense pain of being burned from the outside in. Their lungs will collapse, stopping any sort of air flow from entering their blood streams, their limbs tensing as their organs begin to shrink. As I stand there watching as their blood seeps from their eyes, their fists clench at their sides, I feel nothing, not an ounce of sympathy... nor will I ever. The sweet melody of their screams fill my ears, like a song from a music box. The sound of them screaming for him to come and help, for him to sense that they are being pushed into the depths of hell.I almost feel the urge to dance to that sweet melody but I refrain, having the need to watch as he falls to the floor and perishes under my deathly glare. You humans are always so predictable, calling for help as if anyone would want to save your poor unfortunate soul. He can't hear you, and he never will, for he cannot catch me, not even if he tried, because as i said, no one can stop me- what this can't be... the fire is put out and i'm suddenly pressed to the floor, my head smashed against the concrete of the underpasses floor, he's grabbing me and pushing me against the wall.. This can't be... he–he can touch me...

He can stop me.
