Chapter 6
I laughed quietly as we set our plan up. We found her locker and opened it (She never locks it), we put a bunch of tampons and pads in it, a paint catapult, and we put Vaseline all over on the outside. We also had a bunch of paint and feathers for her car. We waited until she got here and was at her locker.
I saw Zack and quickly handed him my camera, "Take a video of this please."
We painted her car black and dumped feathers all over. And to top it off I wrote on the window, Don't mess with me, BITCH. We left the empty supplies and ran inside, the cheerleader, whose name I found out was Candy, was still trying to open her locker. She finally got it open and the navy blue paint flung out and hit her, as the tampons fell out. She screamed and ran. Amanda and I were laughing so hard, but stopped when we heard the principal.
He quickly got the crowd that appeared to disappear. He looked at Amy and I, motioning a finger for us to follow.
We quickly followed and sat in the chairs in office.
"So girls, tell me why you did it?" He asked,
"Well, I think she deserved it for giving me a bloody nose for no reason," I said.
"Well, I guess I will call it even, but you have detention for tonight," He said getting up.
"Sir, that's not fair Candy started it!" Amanda said.
"Amanda do you want to have detention for a week?" He asked obviously serious.
She huffed, "Fine."
We walked out of his office and into the hallway.
"Well I guess we have to go to class," I said sighing.
"Bye, see you at lunch."
I turned and walked to class dreading the stares from everyone. I walked into the class and quickly sat down trying to avoid the stares. I saw Zack in the back looking at me confused. I gave him a small smile and turned towards the front. I propped my head up on my elbow sighing and stared forward.
This was the first detention I've ever had. So...why now?
Before camp I had been a girl who was scared to talk in public, scared to be known, and invisible. So why had that changed. Why had I changed? I was doing fine before being invisible. I was...comfortable. So how do I get back to that? How do I go from being known to invisible again? I have no clue...but I'm going to find out.
I threw my books in my bag when the bell rang and walked out of the classroom not making eye contact with anyone. A hand reached out and grabbed my shoulder. I shrugged it off and kept walking. Except I wasn't heading for second hour, I was heading for the double doors leading out of school.
I quickly made my way out and started up my car before heading home. I snuck up to my room by climbing up the tree and through the window. I grabbed a duffel bag and threw my favorite clothes in. I threw it out the window and grabbed my wallet containing my money before writing a note. I was going to Amy's...and hopefully everything cleared over by the time I got back. I wrote a separate note and put it in an envelope labeling it 'Zack'. I set one on my bed before I crawled out of my window onto the tree. I shut the window and climbed down the tree. I grabbed my duffel bag and ran to my car that was still idling.
I backed out of the driveway and drove straight to Zack's house. I got out of the car and walked to the door, knocking on it shyly. The door opened revealing Zack's mother who looked to be in the middle of cleaning, with her hair back in a loose bun, a dust rag in one hand and a vacuum behind her.
