Heyo guys! It's writer Virgil here, and I'm here to tell you how Artificial is written as well as cut content and last-minute changes. So, Artificial is discussed with my friends Sunday through Thursday, and I write Friday and Saturday, sometimes one or two extra days, depending on who all works. My work buddy Nick Lee likes to talk, and I enjoy talking to him, so I tend to get distracted easily, so writing is basically out of the question, lol. Then ya got my online friends Mikey, Natalia/Travis, Angel and lastly some friend named Blue_Kitsune. Artificial started off as a role-play between me and Mikey. All these arcs you read were once rp's, and now I'm turning them into books. Since book 1, I haven't strayed too far from cannon, but since Artificial is a legit book here on wattpad, it is considered the real cannon, or the final draft/finished product. Artificial wouldn't have been possible without Mikey's help in role-playing with me, as my friend from work once said, "It takes two to tango." And he's not wrong. Outside of that, I mainly use my friends as a soundboard where I bounce ideas off them. Generally, they are on board with a lot of my ideas, but sometimes they provide better alternatives or rarely jot on board with ideas, so 98% of the time they like my ideas with 1% being alternatives and the other 1% being no to the idea. My friends have a say in my books because they asked my permission to add their characters in which is bad if you're a professional writer. Good thing I'm not because what we got going on is collaborative writing, and there are ups and downs to writing collaboratively. Pros are that it's fun to do with friends, especially if they know your book inside and out, cons are I'm basically a supervisor of my own little team, and I have to be like "HEY!" Snaps fingers a few times. "PAY ATTENTION!" Or other times I gotta nag my friends to read the books. I don't ask for much out of them. I just want them to read the content every once in a while, which sometimes results in me being naggy. Aside from that, another con is if I have an idea and it involves my friend's characters being present, and said friend doesn't like the idea, guess what? I gotta honor their wishes because they said no, even though I'm the writer -_-
Sometimes, they make it ease. Sometimes, I want to be like, "Now listen here ya little shit!" It just depends on the idea and how my friends have their characters written, which I will admit, I'm not the best at keeping them in character, but I try. Anyway, that's the inside look, the behind the scenes of Artificial and next time we'll cover book 1 of Artificial and it's cut content. Stay tuned folks!
