WHEN DAWN GOT TO THE PLATFORM, she was different from other tributes. The girl ran over the game plan multiple times in her head. Her surroundings were confusing ones. The twenty-four tributes and the cornucopia looked like to be in a forest, but when Dawn looked up, she could see buildings that were overgrown. The forest was the only small part of the arena. As Dawn focused on finding Adam, the countdown began.

"Ten."

Dawn looked around, trying to find a mop of brown curls. Across the cornucopia, she found Adam rolling his head a couple of times and watched as he repositioned his feet. He looked to be running in the opposite direction.

"Nine."

Dawn rolled her shoulders back, ready to take the long way to get to him. No way was she going straight through the cornucopia.

"Eight."

The girl looked to her sides. A tribute from district eight from the left to her and a career to her right. Dawn didn't bother to search her brain for the careers name. Although she did recognize him to be the one to use his brute strength.

"Seven, six."

Dawn looks to her left. The tribute from district eight seemed to be shaking in her boots, giving Dawn a doe eyed look as the two made eye contact.

"Five."

The girl prepared to run left. The worst thing she could do is push the district eight girl to the side.

"Four, three."

Dawn lifts her arm up to feel her hair, beads of sweat already coding her hairline.

"Two."

Dawn takes a few deep breaths, calming herself down and keeping a level head. She needed all of the stamina she could get.

"One."

Knock em' dead, right?

Dawn pushed off of her platform when she heard a boom. Time seemed to freeze when Dawn ran, accidentally bumping into the district eight girl who stood there frozen. Using a harsh push to get her out of her way, Dawn apologized in her head. Cannons were heard all around when she entered the forest and watched the curl brown hair that was a hundred feet in front of her. Adam was heading towards the building.

Dawn pushed her legs faster to catch up with her partner. Trying not to run into trees, she swerved out of the way of branches. Dawn tripped over her feet many times but was still able to keep up right. The girl smiled slightly as she saw an abandoned road up ahead that led towards the buildings.

As she was halfway across the road, a sudden force threw her. The back of her head slammed on the concrete. Dawn let out noises of pain as she looked over to see who did it. The career, who was next to her, gave her a sadistic smile as he stalked over to her with a large knife in hand. Dawn rolled over on her shoulder in a haze, trying to get up before a hand pushed her back down. Legs straddled her hips, keeping her from moving. The girl reached out a hand, feeling around for anything sharp. "Get off of me." She said with a hoarse voice.
