Let Me Explain

I know there are plenty of stories out there about a girl who by some strange mix of events, has to live with a family with a ridiculous amount of boys, but I wanted to write my own as well. I'm taking a different perspective because, as much as I love those stories, they're all the same. No one wrote one about Hawaii so I decided, since I knew more about Hawaii than anywhere else, it would take place there. I will incorporate Hawaiian culture into this story and add in my school life. This is just a description chapter. Let us begin...

My main girl:

Anela (ah-nel-ah) Sophia Rivers a.k.a. Angel: October 10, 16 years old, junior in high school

The eleven Wilson boys:

Ikaika (ee-ka-ee-ka) Michael a.k.a. Miko (sounds like Michael w/o the l): September 5, 21 years old, junior in college

Alika (ah-lee-ka) Timothy a.k.a. Lika Boy: February 18, 19 years old, freshman in college, twin 1, older by five minutes

Alani (ah-la-knee) Thomas a.k.a. Lani Boy: February 18, 19 years old, freshman in college, twin 2

Keoni (key-oh-knee) Stefan a.k.a. Oni: March 8, 18 years old, senior in high school

Kawika (ka-vee-ka) Galen a.k.a. Skids by his friends and David by his brothers: January 26, 17 years old, junior in high school

Maka (ma-ka) Phillip a.k.a. Maks: November 2, 16 years old, junior in high school

Kaeo (ka-ay-oh) Tristan a.k.a. Eo: December 2, 15 years old, sophomore in high school, twin 3, older by 3 minutes

Kama (ka-ma) Trenton a.k.a. Trent: December 2, 15 years old, sophomore in high school, twin 4

Aukai (ow-k-eye) James a.k.a. Slim Jim: October 8, 13 years old, 8th grade

**Most of the guys have Greek middle names, because Mr. Wilson is part Greek, and Mrs. Wilson fell in love with and in Greece. They got married in Greece and lived there until twins 1 & 2 were born.

Hikaru (he-ka-roo) Takashi a.k.a. Sushi: April 11, 12 years old, 6th grade, twin 5, older by 2 minutes

Kaoru (cow-roo) Tamaki a.k.a. Wasabi: April 11, 12 years old, 6th grade, twin 6

**Born in Japan, adopted in Japan when Mrs. Wilson went there to take pictures of the cherry blossom trees. Their mother died during childbirth, their dad died two months before their birth of unknown causes.

Parents:

Robert Derek  Rivers: 37 when he died, died in a car accident, was a writer, born in San Francisco, California, February 23

Leilani Hokuakea Kealoha: 42 when she died, 5 years after her husband, died of a mysterious illness, was a lawyer, born in Honolulu, Hawaii, February 12

James Eunice Wilson: 43 years old, brain surgeon, born in Athens, Greece March 18

Lehua Kanani Ahuna: 42 years old, Leilani's best friend and schoolmate at Kamehameha Academy, photographer and painter, born in Kea'au, Hawaii June 26

Places:

Kamehameha Academy- modeled and named after Kamehameha Schools; private school; school colors are blue and silver; only admits Hawaiian students; mascot: the Warriors

Sunset Ridge- named after Sunrise Ridge in Hilo; fancy homes for doctors, lawyers, and the like.

I hope this chapter gave you a brief understanding of my characters and my inspiration. The guys' names came from guys in my school, personalities may or may not match. The places are real just different names. This is just something that I would do if I were put into this situation, since Anela is modeled after me. Hope you enjoy the rest of the story now that you get it.
