"I am not doing this bullshit." Judd stated firmly. He glared daggers into his mother, gaze just peaking between the blue tips of his bangs. His foot tapped irritatedly against the kitchen tile under the dinning room table, one of his veiny fists gripping the armrest of the chair.
"You have no choice." Diane growled in response, towering over Judd's seated position. In her hand was a slightly crumpled graduation warning form.
"You WILL graduate highschool on time. And once you do, you can move out and do whatever the fuck you want, but as long as youre under OUR roof, you follow OUR rules."
"Oh I love when youre a commanding mommy." Elliot Birch swooned from his seat opposite of her at the table.
"Not now Elliot!"
Judd huffed, rolling his eyes. His gaze traveled to the papers on the table. He was mid way through first semester of senior year, and Bridgeton high sent home a note explaining that he was far from enough credits to graduate on time, and if he kept his current ways up, he would be held back a year or two.
Along side the letter was a pamphlet. Bridgeton had implemented a program called "Guiding Light", where students in the top 10% could assist students lacking credits for graduation. The behind students would graduate on time, and the ahead students would get community service, everybody was happy.
Well except for Judd.
"Ive already spoken to your counselor and signed you up. Starting Monday, you will meet with your mentor during study hall on mondays and fridays, after school on tuesdays and thursdays, and from 2-4 on sundays." Diane stated, beginning to collect all the papers.
Judd's eyes widened a bit.
"Thats almost every fucking day." He whispered.
"For how long?""You have 5 classes to recover, we'll see where you are at the end of this semester." Diane said seriously, beginning to walk away, Elliot in tow.
"You better get to work, dummy." Lea snickered.
"Shut up bitch." Judd hissed, whipping his head over to her.
"AND WATCH YOUR MOUTH." Diane called from the stairs.
The boy huffed again, waiting until he heard the door to his parent's room click closed before he slumped up the strairs, too frustrated to use the vents.
Once in in his room, he jammed his pocket knife down into the wood of his desk, taking a deep breath.
Judd wasn't stupid, he was far from it, he just didn't care about school in the slightest. His failed classes were a result of his lack of effort, not lack of understanding. And he didn't want some preppy ass nerd trying to tell him things he already knew.
A high school diploma didn't interest him, half the time he considered dropping out, getting a GED, then attending a vocational school.
After another deep and angry sigh, he pulled his shirt from his body, pacing over to the bathroom connected to his room and turning on the shower.
And as he sat under the ice cold water, he assured himself one thing,
he was NOT going to those mentor meetings.
