This poem is highly inspired by the song 'I built a friend' by Alec Benjamin.

The following poem is one of the newly added pieces in the anthology and before reading it, I want to inform you that it was written by me at a young age . Unlike others, this poem will not deal with any heavy theme or complicated poetry expressions. Please don't judge the entire collection based solely on this poem. It's not one of my best works and is only being published for the sake of nostalgia.

What if I could build a friend,
By moulding some plastic with a pen.

That creation would be the definition
Of hilariousness.
We'd both laugh at jokes which doesn't
Make any sense.
We could compete in competitions,
With no competitiveness,
Just to reach the best of ourselves.
We'd laugh at all the rumours,
Only it would understand my humour,
We'd both be the lead ruiner
Of everything

Oh! I wanna build a friend,
With coloured paper and a pen,
And by meeting him all the filter would end,
Yeah, there wouldn't be any pretend.

We'd be cruel, in the most caring way,
And honest in the most brutal form,
We'd sing, without any thinking
That we sound good or not.

It would be, just like me,
Finding what's really meant to be.
Discovering what really matters,
What kind of change it could bring.
Atleast in it's own life,
It can't be the side character.

Oh! I really built a friend,
With 10 joule of fiction and a pen,
But don't tell me it's in my fantasy,
'Cause only that's where authentic fun can be.
