After some minute ride, we arrived at AIIMS Delhi, one of the most prestigious medical institute in India. The anticipation and excitement were palpable as we stepped off the bus, finally reaching our long-awaited destination. The sprawling campus of AIIMS greeted us with its grandeur and state-of-the-art facilities, leaving us in awe. As we made our way towards the entrance, Sanjana's eyes lit up with a mix of disbelief and elation. She couldn't help but gaze at the AIIMS board, as if to reassure herself that this was indeed a reality. I couldn't agree more with her sentiment, as this moment felt like a culmination of years of hard work and dedication. The journey to get here had been filled with challenges and sacrifices, but it was all worth it in the end. Standing outside AIIMS, surrounded by fellow aspiring doctors and medical professionals, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. This was more than just a dream come true; it was a testament to our determination and perseverance. As we took our first steps into the world-renowned institution, a wave of inspiration washed over us. We knew that this was just the beginning of an incredible journey, one that would shape our future and maybe our present too.

"Students, please make your way to the hall immediately. Your bus is late, and the orientation ceremony cannot start without you," reprimanded an elderly professor, her face displaying a stern expression. We nodded, understanding the urgency, and hurried towards the entrance. As we stepped into the reception hall, a sense of excitement and anticipation washed over us, filling the air with an electric energy. The room was abuzz with activity as we met the inquisitive gazes of the interns who had arrived earlier.

I was walking forward towards the group of students when someone abruptly bumped into me, spilling coffee on her pristine white shoes. The unexpected collision caught me off guard, and I felt a pang of guilt for causing the accident. Before I could even utter an apology, the woman interrupted me, her voice filled with annoyance “Watch where you are going” she met my eyes, anger visible in her eyes as she yanks her shoes, trying to dry them off.

I understand her annoyance but blaming me completely just shows her level of attitude when she was the one who was in hurry.  Just than Sanjana stepped between us protecting me with her body “She said she is sorry, it you who was running blindly in such a crowed hall?” she exclaimed while folding her arms in front of her chest, giving the same intense eye contact to the girl. The other girl than stand upright coming face to face with Sanjana. “Do you even know who I am?” the girl asked, raising an eyebrow. Sanjana scoffs “I don’t care who you are-"

there convo cut short by a girl jumping in between. “Sorry Aditi but your Chachi is looking for you...” she said while showing her puppy eyes, giving a awkward smile. The girl gave us a one last look before walking past us.

“Phew... don't mess with her," the girl warned. "She misbehaved with Mahak," Sanjana replied with a hint of anger in her voice. “Her Chachi is the vice leader of the diagnostic team, so be careful not to get on her bad side if you want to make your place in this Hospital" she advised, her voice filled with a sense of caution. We paused, letting her words sink in. "Don't worry," she reassured us, her tone softening. "We have to watch each other back By the way, I'm Dr. Akshara Sharma," she introduced herself, extending her hand towards me. I reciprocated the gesture, shaking her hand with a smile, appreciating her concern for us. “I’m Dr. Mahak Verma” I exclaims. “And I’m Dr. Sanjana Mehra”.

We all talked a little. She asked me about the incident because of which we got late for the ceremony. “Everything is fine but who was that charming knight who came at your rescue in his shiny armor or should I say hair” Akshara asked while raising both of her eyebrows teasingly, grinning excitedly. I let out a chuckle. “Whoever he was, he stole our Mahak’s heart’’ Sanjana gave my shoulder a small nudge teasingly . I shook my head at her in disbelief. My cheeks turning slightly pink. “But if he was so calm while handling such a critical situation it will either be an intern or medical staff” Akshara claims. “Just hope it’s not someone from staff or else your love story will come to an end even before starting.” Sanjana replied. I don’t know why they both are even worrying so much about him, after all they are Girls.

“We probably should head to reception to collect our ID cards before the orientation ceremony” i said changing the the topic. they both nod their head in agreement.

Phew…

“I can’t believe it’s mine...” Sanjana's voice trembled with disbelief as she whispered, holding her ID card tightly in her hands. “we are finally where we should be” I exclaimed, while putting the ID card around my neck. Something that can’t be purchased. As we looked around, we could see that the other interns felt the same way. This simple card marked the beginning of a new chapter in our professional lives; one that we knew would be pivotal and unforgettable.

Just than a mechanical sound hit my ears. "I think the orientation ceremony is starting!" We made our way through the crowd to front.

“Good morning Doctor’s, I’m Dr Anika Gupta the vice leader of Diagnostic team. From today onwards, you will be starting the most crucial part of your career. For the 1st year of your internship you’ll be under eyes of your personal senior who will be guiding you until the 2nd year. They can show you the path but you will have to walk on it alone. Remember, Good Bad are just results; our job is to give our best to not leave any space for regret. Welcome to AIIMS Delhi” She smiled as everyone started clapping. “She is Aditi’s chachi, pretty cool huh?" Akshara mumble in my ears. I slightly nod in agreement. She is so confident and very professional.

“I hope yall have collected your ID cards” she questions, scanning each students and in middle she catches my eyes before she speaks again. “Turn your cards and you will find you assigned senior business card attached to it. I wish you good luck your first day” she smiles one last time before walking off the stage. Many interns run after her to have a talk with her. “She is just awesome unlike…the one who should not be named?” Sanjana scoffs while glancing at Aditi who is checking her card. Curiosity hits me, I quickly flip my card and scans for the name “Dr. Anirudh Maheshwari” I mumbled. Before I could react someone gently tapped my shoulder, causing Snajana to let out a soft curse, her eyes widening in shock. Startled, I quickly turned around, my heart racing. To my astonishment, standing before me was none other than …. A small gasp left my lips. My eyes widened in shock. “Good morning Dr. Mahak Verma, I sure we’ll have a very great year together” He said. His voice made Goosebumps rise on my skin.
