O.m.g... Hi loves! <3 I got this chapter out as soon as I could. I literally just noticed this is chapter 40! Like- four zero. AHHHH!!! We've come so far and I couldn't have done it without ya'll! AND 6K?! KILL ME- we literally just reached 6k a few weeks ago- I don't know how much I'll be able to post because it's midterms and there's just so much studying, but I'll try for you guys! I shot her one last look and left. 'Hopefully she's as good as she says.'
An and I picked up the pass once we heard metal start clinking from behind us.
"I forgot about that damn katana." We entered the lobby. "Doesn't matter now."
I stopped walking a froze. "Holy shit- AN!" She whipped her head around.
"What-? their going to know we're here, I said to be quiet-"
"Look behind you idiot."
Fire burned through the entire outside of The Beach. Smoke rose and embers flickered violently. The distinct smell of gas grew.
You could see people running around, getting shot aimlessly by snipers. Militants were hauling bodies into the flames.
People young, old, boy, girl, anyone- screamed.
1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES REMAINING.
"Fuck." An muttered. "We're running out of time.
She dropped to her knees in front of Momoka's body, steadying her hands and started to take the knife out with the cloth.
"Quick. Shut that door." I nodded and ran to the giant glass sliding door leading to the pool and began to push it closed.
'Is this right...?' I thought. 'N-no- they'll be stuck outside.' I screamed to An so she could hear me over everyone's panicked shouts.
"Wait- how will they get back in- they can't stay out there, they'll burn!" I said pausing.
"We can't just close it-!" "We have to Hazumi. They'll find the witch one way or another. And if that way is by mindlessly chucking bodies into that pile of logs and ash- then we can't help that."
I hesitated, scanning the look on her face. She stared back pleadingly.
"I thought you were a hearts specialist."
"..."
"I am." I turned back and shoved the door closed. I could hear my monitor beeping frantically."
