chapter 19

Maya

I let him consume me, take all of me because I wanted this so bad. And now I finally have it, I can kiss him. My happiness cannot contain itself, and it shows because I cried. twice.

"Well Maya, I- shit I'm so sorry I should've knocked", Darshil said as his eyes widened in surprise, and the room seemed to be engulfed in a long ass awkward silence. Rayan rolled his eyes and slowly pulled away from me still not realizing his grip from my waist while my cheeks were flushed with embarrassment.

"Uh, hey, I brought some blueprints, for the uh sightseeing" Darshil stammered, trying to steady the awkwardness here. He shifted uncomfortably on his feet and tried to turn and free himself from the awkwardness.

Rayan rolled his eyes again and finally breaking the silence he sighed audibly and got up on his feet and helped me get up as well, He shot Darshil an annoyed glance. "You could've knocked, you know? We weren't exactly expecting company," he said

Darshil scratched his head, a smirky smile playing on his lips. "I didn't think anyone would be... occupied. My bad." he said cheekily, "Well I will leave this here" he spoke again and he quickly arranged the files on the table. 

And I stood there looking at Rayan's clenched fists, The dude was angry with Darshil like angry angry, so why was he even working with him if he annoyed him so much?

I attempted to fill the void with a forced laugh, "Well, um, at what time are we leaving for the sightseeing?"

"Timing, Darshil. It's all about timing." Rayan muttered cockily before Darshil could reply. These guys are not compatible and they own a fucking hotel chain together? Nope. I refuse to believe that

Darshil, trying to lighten the tension and chuckled nervously. "Yeah, yeah. I'll make sure to call up both of you so that I stop walking in on my co-founders 'Romantic Moments' or even better let me just sew my eyes together right?" he yelled dramatically

"You are so-" Rayan spoke

"Can you both not to kill each other for once?" I cut them off, and I turned to Rayan, "It's okay, he's trusted. it's okay" I said running my hand down his arm.

Rayan rolled his eyes, and Darshil was still oblivious to the awkwardness continued, "I always knew you both would be something," he said with his attempts at breaking the tension because that's what he is, dumb. I mean he just cannot read the room or is he just prone to being dumb and a million percent oblivious?

"Maybe I should leave you two alone to... continue whatever you were doing?" Darshil wiggled his eyebrows, attempting to still make me laugh because we all knew Rayan was not going to even smile let alone laugh

Rayan, obviously not amused and as dry as sand, "Or you could just leave, and we can forget this ever happened." he spoke

Darshil finally sensing the tension, excused himself, "Well, I'll, um, go... check on something. You guys enjoy your, uh, little whatever, I don't wanna put a label on it." and as he walked out of my cabin, Rayan said, "Learn to knock man",

to which Darshil replied, "Learn to lock" and he turned and walked out.

Rayan turned to look at me, and I shot him a death glare, "Why are you acting like a fireball just waiting to go off?" I said slapping his arm.

"I don't know," he said dryly

"Why are you being so dry all of a sudden?" I asked

"Darshil, he just annoys me a lot" he finally said

"You own a fucking company with him, so learn to tolerate him as well" I rolled my eyes

"Are you mad at me?" he asked
