ℳ𝓇𝓈 ℛ𝒾𝒹𝒹𝓁ℯ [Mattheo Riddle x Fem Reader]

First Year

Mattheo guided Y/n through the hall as they waited for their names to be called out. Y/n stood there waiting nervously.

Mattheo could see her hands shaking, so he slid his hand into hers. Y/n clung on and gave him a smile.

"Riddle, Mattheo," Mcgonagal called out. Mattheo let go of Y/ns hand and walked towards the platform. He could feel eyes on him as he sat down on the stool and waited as the hat made his decision.

"Hmmm, very interesting. You have a thirst to prove yourself, so better be SLYTHERIN!" The hat said.

Mattheo got up and walked over to the slytgerin table and sat next to Theo. He watched Y/n as she waited for her name.

"Y/l/n, Y/n," the lady yelled out. Y/n walked forward and sat on the stool. Mattheo held his breath as the hat was placed on her head.

"SLYTHERIN!" It shouted. Y/n beamed and went over to the table and sat down next to Mattheo. Dumbledoor said a few words, and then food appeared.

After the feast, Draco insisted on going to the lake for a late night swim. Everyone agreed. They snuck out of the castle and down a path.

When Y/n got there, she sat on the grass and watched the boys. They took off their shirts, shoes, and socks, then dived in.

They all swam about laughing. Y/n lay on her back and watched as the stars came out.

The first year sped by. Y/n made friends with Pansy and Millicent as well as the other boys. Mattheo was good friends with the boys.

Soon enough, the first year was over. The friend group was headed to their summer holidays. They sat in a compartment and talked about where they were going.

"I'm going off to Greese." Theo said. "My Dad said we are on a cruise to loads of different islands in the Caribbean!" Draco replied. Y/n listend in to the conversations but didn't say anything.

She was back to her parents. But this time, Mattheo wouldn't be there to comfort her or hang out. He was off on holiday with his parents.

The train arrived at the station. All the boys rushed off after saying goodbye except Mattheo. Y/n saw her parents waiting for her. She turned to Mattheo and hugged him tightly. He hugged her back.

"I'm really sorry, Y/n. If anything happens, write to me. I promise to write back." The boys said. Y/n didn't reply. She let go and cupped his face in her hands. "Bye Matt have a good time. Don't worry about me. If my parents argue, I will go on a walk." She said.

Y/n waved goodbye to Mattheo and then walked over to her parents.

"Y/n, we have some important news." Her mother said. Y/n nodded and followed her parents to the portkey. 

"You can't please! I won't, no!" Y/n shouted. "Y/n, stop being silly!" Her dad shouted. Y/n shrieked angrily and ran out of the front door. She ran into the woods near the street.

After a while of thinking. She trudged back to the house and through the door.

"Y/n! Where have you been!" Her dad raged. "Can I please go to my room." The girl said quietly. Her dad sighed and nodded.

She got out a piece of paper and a quil.

Dear Matt,

I hope you are enjoying your holiday. I certainly am. My mum and dad have stopped arguing and came to an agreement. I am very happy. I hope you are too. See you soon.

Y/n folded up the letter and went downstairs to the familys owl. She tied it to the owls leg and sent it off. Y/n knew Mattheo would find out as soon as he came back, but she didn't want to ruin his holiday.
