"You want me to... WHAT?!"
"Teach me."In a cold sweat, he started to panic.
"I-I-I don't think you should talk to someone like me..."
"Well, why not?"
"You and I have different quirks, and I think that we have the same type of abilities, and-"
"I know that."Confused by my comment, he looked at me.
"I'm not saying: teach me your quirk. I'm saying: teach me with your notebook thing you carry."
Looking at his notepad and back at me, he flushed in embarrassment.
"Oh! That! Sorry! I thought when you said you wanted me to teach you, I thought-"
"I get it. But seriously, I want to learn all I can from our classmates, but I don't seem to understand my quirk as much."
"What do you mean?"
"You saw what happened at lunch today."
"Actually, no. I didn't. What did happen?"Surprised that he wasn't there, I stood there dumbfounded. I thought he was there to see it out of everyone there at the cafeteria. Maybe he was elsewhere when it happened. With a deep breath, I explained the situation earlier and what happened afterward.
"I see," he thought, "Have you shown this to Recovery Girl about it?"
I nodded my head.
"It's not a medical issue. She checked."
"I see. Psychological?"
"Maybe, but don't think we have therapy clinics with quirks."
"True. Emotional?"
"What do you mean?"
"When your quirk activated, did it happen right when you thought about someone or something?"Thinking about the situation, I recalled the events: Bakugou and I in the classroom alone, my cousin embarrassing me in front of the entire classroom, and the sports event.
"Maybe..." I mentioned as my hands started to simmer.
"AH! Your hands!" he gasped in shock.Looking down, I panicked, grabbing a napkin from my skirt pocket and wiping it down as best as possible. It started to make me panic entirely. If this competition is to let my power stand out, then how can I do that with only one inspirational power?
"Please, Midoriya..." she begged. "You're all I got."
With him seeing the droopiness in her eyes, he couldn't say no to her with a face like that.
As he sighed, he finally agreed.*****
On their next day off school, YN got off the train station, walking towards Midoriya's home to see what kind of training I'd learn from my mentor's teachings. With a knock on the door, an older woman opened the door.
"Yes?" she spoke, "Can I help you?"
"Yes. I'm... looking for... Izuku..."With a smile rising from her face, she started to tear with joy, which made me panic entirely.
"I can't believe it! My little boy brought a girl home!!" she wept cheerfully.
Confused as to why, I tried to explain to whom I assumed was his mother the misunderstanding. However, it made the situation even worse for the wear. Izuku, who just got out of the shower, heard the sounds echoing out from the front door. Fearing that his mother was in danger, he ran towards the door, wearing nothing but his towel, preparing his quirk strike. Suddenly, as he turned to the corner, he looked and saw me with my quirk training outfit on as I looked right back at him. With a blush rushing towards his face, he ran back to the wall he came out of.
"I-I'm sorry!!" he panicked.
"It's okay..." I blushed.Seeing how embarrassed I became, his mother turned to see him with nothing but a towel.
"Izuku Hisashi Midoriya!" she reprimanded her son, seeing how dressed he was, "Go straight to your room and get dressed right now! We have guests here!"
"I know that, but-"
"But nothing! Go to your room now!"*****
As I waited on the sofa, I lightly sipped the tea, waiting for Midoriya to return from his room. It was more embarrassing to be out of the hall, half-naked than to be mistaken as someone's girlfriend to his mother.
"I'm so sorry to put you in that situation!!" she apologized, handing me a plate of sweets. "I honestly didn't know you were one of his classmates here for practice."
"It's fine..." I mumbled. While I wasn't trying to be rude, she was a stranger to me. Talking has been a problem for me but I managed to be as courteous as possible with Ms Midoriya. At the same moment, as the plate hit the coffee table, Izuku had just arrived.
"Sorry about the misconduct." Izuku apologized, "I thought you were coming by later today."
"It's okay. I wanted to find your home since your place isn't far from here. Plus, you did tell me to swing by from your text."Showing the phone to him, he started to flush with embarrassment. It did say that I should swing by, without telling me what time to come by. He bowed apologetically as he placed his entire notebooks down.
"You mentioned you wanted to learn, so here's all I've learned in all the years I've watched heroes fight."
Surprised by the amount of books he's kept over the years, this could help me find some inspiring ideas for my quirk to work. Examining and reading each page, there were fascinating ways to get new powers to inspire. But once I got to one page, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
"I'm ready, Midoriya! Teach me!"
*****
Days later, as Class 1A all waited for the moment to appear in the stadium, I started to take a deep breath. I knew this had to be something I had to manage on my own, but my quirk may not make it well enough if not cared for.
"You're going to be okay," Midoriya reassured me. "Remember your training."
I nodded.
Our training sessions have been tough, but manageable.
Apart from learning from Bakugou's quirk, I learned so much from Izuku's notebook.
That all went crumbling down when I saw my cousin coming in.
All my training info disappeared."Why are you here, cousin? Don't you know it isn't required of you to participate?"
"She is required to be here." Kirishima replied, standing up for his friend, "Aizawa himself told us that-"
"Principal Nezu agreed that we shouldn't allow someone like her to participate in the games."Holding the approved letter signed by Principal Nezu, my classmates stood there in shock.
I... can't... participate in the games?? I questioned internally, But why??
