You and Thomas stood around a fire. Thomas holding you close as he leans his head on your shoulder and stares into the fire. You sigh quietly and also stare into the fire. The fire reflecting in your eyes as none of you say a word. A comfortable silence cascades on the both of you. Although you had no feeling for Max it hurt to see your past lover go and you can say the same for Thomas.

Thomas takes your hand and lifts you on-top of the horse. He gets on and lights himself a cigarette before letting the horse trot away back to the house. Once there, you both get off the horse. You light yourself a cigarette and you both enter the house completely ignoring Polly, Michael and Ada as you enter your office slamming the door as Thomas enters. You two sit on the desk chairs as Michael and Polly come in and sit in front of the desk as Thomas writes something down while you relight your cigarette as it's gone out by the blow of the door banging closed.

"How are the books?" Thomas is the first to break the awkward silence filling the office.

"Unaffected." Polly answers

"Up slightly. There's also been a threefold increase in donations to the Shelby Foundation charity. The councillor suggested naming the new school 'The Grace, Max and Shelby institute.'" Michael informs as you throw your head back and continue to toke your cigarette not speaking. You haven't said a word to anyone since the funerals for Grace and Max.

"Tell the counsellor the name 'Grace, Max and Shelby institute.' Is acceptable to us. This is a list on the other things I want doing. That's all." Thomas dismisses as Michael clears his throat and stands up and starts walking away as Polly approaches the desk

"Y/n. Tommy." Polly mumbles

"That's all, Pol. Well done, both of you." Thomas praises as he throws newspapers around getting agitated that he couldn't find what he was looking for. You close your eyes and blow smoke from your lips. The door opens again to reveal Arthur and John. Arthur taking off his hat as you look at them both

"Well, there they are. Hi, Tom. Hi, Y/n." Arthur greets as he comes in awkwardly.

"She's not talking at this very moment but hello, boys." Thomas informs as he points to you. Arthur nods as he shows a sorrowful expression as he looks at you. You would normally be smiling when he shows up or you'd be the one comforting him. Or even make a sarcastic joke just to piss him off but being silent was different to Arthur when it comes to you. It put him at an unease

"We, uh, didn't get a chance to see you two after the funeral. Well, you both disappeared on us, but, well, me and John, we just wanna say that—" Arthur continues to speak

"Arthur, shut up." Thomas orders

"Alright." Arthur mumbles

"Alright, talk to us." Thomas sighs out as he stands up and walks behind you, putting his hands on your shoulders as you look at Arthur wanting the news

"We got to Angel at the hospital where he laid. Cut his throat. He's dead. Cleared out the rest of the Italians out of the south of the city." Arthur informs

"They mostly went to the Black Country, but we told Betty Kitchins to keep her moving." John adds

"And Betty sends her condolences." Arthur points out as you look between Arthur and John
