Lexie sighed as she finished getting Maisie ready for her weekend at her daddy's house. Maisie, now six years old, had recently expressed an interest in playing soccer and her dad had signed her up for a local team. As Lexie dressed her daughter in her soccer gear, she couldn't help but feel a slight pang in her heart. Maisie was growing up so fast and Lexie knew she would miss her while she was away for the weekend.

Meanwhile, April was busy making breakfast in the kitchen.  Maisie's parents were divorced and lexie married april  who began being maisies step mom maisie called her mama. It was hard knowing that they would be apart for the weekend.

But April put on a smile as she set the plates on the table and called out to Maisie and Lexie that breakfast was ready. Maisie came skipping into the kitchen, excitement evident on her face as she sat down to eat. But as they finished their breakfast, Lexie gently reminded Maisie that it was time to go to her daddy's house.

However, Maisie's excitement quickly turned into tears as she buried her face in April's lap, crying that she didn't want to leave her mama. Lexie's heart broke as she saw her daughter so upset. She knew how much Maisie loved spending time with her dad, but she also understood how hard it was for her little girl to be away from her. Lexie called Mark, Maisie's dad, to let him know what was happening. And to her surprise, Mark suggested that if it was okay with Lexie, Maisie could stay with her for the weekend and go with him next weekend instead.

Lexie hesitated, knowing that Maisie would be disappointed to miss her first soccer game. But ultimately, she knew that her daughter's happiness and well-being were the most important things. Reluctantly, she agreed to Mark's proposal, and Maisie's tears quickly turned into a beaming smile as she realized she could stay with her mama.

lexie helped picked Maisies outfit out for their fun surprise they had for the day.

This is what maisie is wearing:

As Maisie happily played with her toys in her room, Lexie and April exchanged a knowing glance. They both knew how tough it was for Maisie to be away from either of her parents. But they also knew that they would always do whatever was best for their daughter.

With Maisie now happily playing at home, Lexie and April decided to make the most of their unexpected weekend together. They took Maisie out for a fun day filled with ice cream, playing soccer at the park, and even making colorful bracelets. Maisie couldn't stop smiling and laughing, grateful to spend the day with both her mama and her mommy

But as the day came to an end, Lexie had to pick up Maisie's aunt, Amelia, who didn't have work that day. Lexie's heart sank a little as she knew she would have to say goodbye to Maisie once again. But Maisie's aunt had planned a fun evening of their own, and Maisie's excitement quickly returned.

Just as Maisie was about to leave with her aunt, Lexie received a call from Mark, asking how Maisie was doing. Lexie couldn't help but smile as she told him all about their fun day. Mark was pleased to hear it and promised to make it up to Maisie next weekend.

As Lexie and April watched Maisie and Amelia drive away, Lexie couldn't help but feel grateful for the support system she had. She knew that no matter what, she and Mark would always do what was best for their daughter. And as Maisie sat in the backseat, smiling and chattering about her day, Lexie couldn't help but feel that this unexpected weekend had turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
