The Beginning

12. A sweet revelation

The doctor informed the three of them that Dhruva is now out of danger. He has lost a lot of blood but will recover with rest. 

Saanvi sighed with relief. She looked at Yash, His face lit up. He patted her head and said, "He'll be alright."

Saanvi felt that Yash was also reassuring himself, she wondered how is their friendship so deep, Why does Yash care so much? 

Trisha left home as her mother was waiting and she'll meet them early morning at the hospital.

Yash asked Saanvi to leave, stating that he would stay in the hospital overnight. As they were walking her out, A middle-aged man with grey hair wearing a formal shirt and pants entered the hospital block. Saanvi pointed out and said, "Hey look, I think it's Dhruva's Father."

Yash looked at the man and replied in a sad voice,  "Err..No, he..he is his PA". Saanvi gave him a surprised look. 

"You leave now, I'll talk to him, don't worry, sleep well and Thank you", Yash said in a very calming yet hurried voice. PA gave Saanvi a quick look and turned towards Yash, "Yash sir, how's Dhruv baba? Is he hurt badly? How did this happen? Who got him to the hospital?"

Yash quickly replied, "He's now well, I got him to the hospital"

Saanvi heard this as she was leaving, she was very confused, she thought "Why did Yash lie, What kind of father doesnt rush to the hospital when their son is hurt"

As she reached home, all she could think about was Dhruva, His bloody face. she was regretting the fact that she asked them to leave earlier. she coudnt wait until the morning to visit Dhruva in the hospital. She had so many questions in her mind. She remembered their conversation that evening, particularly when Dhruva asked.

"So how will you spend your holidays usually"

"I mostly stay at home. My dad's a very good cook, I love to help him in the kitchen. Sometimes, when my mom and brother are free , We all watch a movie together. I love hanging out at home. What about you?" I said.

Dhruva was silent, but gave a stern reply, "I hangout with Duke, my Dog. I go on bike rides or to Yashas house".

For some reason Saanvi did not ask him about his father. She had felt a tone of sadness when he replied. 

After a sleepless night, Saanvi woke up early the next day, she got ready and rushed out of her house without having her breakfast. As she was starting her scooty her phone rang. It was Yash. He asked her to not come to the hospital now as Dhruva was still resting and that he would text them when he feels better. Yash also asked them to not tell this to anyone at college and to just go on with the day normally.

Saanvi was dissapointed, she couldnt resist not seeing him. With a heavy heart, she went to the college. Trisha was in a bad mood too. She said "his shouldn't have happened yaa, we were just starting to get to know them. How did it even happened. I thought both of them left together."

Saanvi stayed silent. Each passing minute seemed very slow. she was constantly checking her phone for Yash's message. 

"Did Yash call you or text? He hasnt replied to me since yesterday" said Trisha. Saanvi knew Trisha liked Yash, she consoled her saying he might be busy at the hospital. After the lunch break, both Saanvi and Trisha received a message from Yash asking them to come to the hospital in the evening.

Both Saanvi and Trisha hurried to the hospital as the class ended. Saanvi was very nervous, she asked Trisha to drive. They reached the hospital block and saw Yash there. Trisha stared at him from afar. He looked tired. His eyes were droopy and looked like he hadnt slept the night before. Trisha felt the urge to hug him. She ignored that thought when Yash started talking "5 minutes, The nurses are changing his dressing" Saanvi silently noded. She did not know how to react or what to say when she sees Dhruva. As the nurses left, all 3 of them entered the ward. Dhruvas head and legs were wrapped with bandages. His face had some minor scratches. Dhruva saw Sanvi and smiled. She smiled back but did not say a word. Trisha and Yash were asking him about how he was feeling and what happened. Dhruva explained that he had to visit his dads office and left on the other way. As he was driving, he remembered he had forgotten his house keys at the cafe and took a U turn. A rash car hit him and just drove away as he fell back on his head. 

Sanvi heard this and vividly remembered that nothing was left. "Why is he lying?" She thought. Dhruva looked at her and said, "Can I talk to Saanvi for a minute?" Yash understood. He and Trisha left the room. There was a silence for few seconds.

"Thanks a lot, I owe you big time", Dhruva said with a faint smile.

"Why did you lie?, I was there and there were no things left" Saanvi immediately replied. Dhruva was taken aback. That wasnt a response he was hoping for. He liked her candidness, stared at her and replied ,

"I did not want to leave you alone at the Cafe, So I was coming back".
