-Chapter 19- (Healing The Wounds)

Nine looked down at them, their body stiff. Tears were falling down his face, 'I-I never wanted this. I just..'

I placed a hand on his shoulder, 'I knew you never had bad intentions, Nine. We're doing our best.' 

Jewel hovered over them, examining their wounds, Shadow spoke up, 'How are they?' He asked. Nine's ears perked up, and he looked sideways at me. I could pick up what he was thinking. Shadow was acting out of the ordinary for Y/N.

'They'll live... but I don't know how long it'll be until they wake up.' Jewel said, 'It'll take a long time.' 

Nine walked forward, 'I can try to help..' He mumbled, 'In my lab, not in our HQ, but in the lab- in the Grim- we could take some of the powers from the Paradox Prism and help Y/N.' He offered.

I nodded, 'We'll take any chance we got.'

Shadow turned on his heel, 'What if it hurts them more?' He asked.

'The chances are low.' Tails murmured, and Nine nodded, 'But chances are they'd give Y/N a big boost and probably even the.. 'powers' they had before again.' 

Nine tensed at the mention of even hurting Y/N. I could tell he was just desperate, 'I never... wanted to be here. Infinite made us- all of us- do his bidding so when he took over Mobius, he would return all of us to our worlds without any damage.'

Mangey hopped up on Y/N's unconscious body, his ears dropped down to his head and his eyes full of worry. I glanced at Shadow, who was gritting his teeth.

'Shadow.. are you-'

'I'm fine.' He walked out at that, and Nine turned to look at Tails.

Tails sat against the wall, inhaling deeply, 'I don't think he's realized yet.'

'Realized what?' I asked, looking between the two foxes, who seemed to be reading each other's minds. Nine scoffed slightly.

'Isn't it obvious?' He pointed at the door, 'Shadow has never acted like this before.'

Tails nodded, 'It's always- 'I'm Shadow. I'm the Ultimate Life Form. Get out of my way. Faker.' Y'know. Stuff like that. He's been acknowledging Y/N's needs and concerns more than he normally would.'

Nine chuckled, 'He's in love. And the best part is- he doesn't even realize it.'

I rolled my eyes, 'Obviously, he's in love with Y/N.'

Nine looked back at Y/N, 'Do they know?' Tails asked.

'Probably not. Y/N is smart, but they've never been one to acknowledge good feelings. They have- however, taken a liking to Amy.' The mention of her name made her perk up from holding Y/N's limp hand, Nine forcing a weak smile.

'I'd hope so.' Amy mumbled, 'I wish we could've prevented this.' She sighed.

'We did all we could.' Tails said.

Nine hissed, 'No. I could've- I could've just sided against Infinite.'

'You did all you could, little buddy.' I assured him.

Mangey looked up, whimpering slightly, he looked between us and Y/N, and I shook my head. His eyes immediately filled with worry and sorrow, and he nudged his head into their neck, trying to get them awake.

Tails inhaled, 'Okay. Our top priorities right now- are to heal up Y/N, and stop Infinite and the others. And finally. We need to get Shadow and Y/N together.'
