WHEN REALITY HITS PERFECT

CHAPTER 26

The car was quite and cold since the driver had turned the air conditioning on making the blood on my face dry up.

I sat in the middle of the seats at the back and looked up scared when I saw the door open and Jace entered.

My heart pounded in my chest when he didn't sit infront like he always did but instead opened the back door and sat inside.

As soon as he got in I scooched over to the left from him as if preventing myself from catching the corona virus.

I felt his gaze on me after I did that but I looked away knowing better. This guy was a murderer and I didn't want to look into those murderous eyes of his

Why did he kill the dude, was it because he asked me out?- I wondered

He slammed the door shut and almost immediately the car took off and we were leaving the premises.

The drive was silent and I had my head lost in thoughts

Was Jace really the heartless guy Freddie was talking about?

Should I really feel afraid around him instead of feeling the safest when in his arms?

"Kate"

Was he planning on killing me too?

"Kate"

I needed to save myself- I said and moved my hand slowly towards the door handle to move it open

When suddenly a hand touched my shoulder gently

"Kate!" I heard him yell making me squirm out of fear and also made me jolt out off my thoughts.

I turned my head sharply at him and shook his hand off my shoulder since it was spreading fear throughout that particular spot.

He looked shocked but for only a second before coming back to his normal self.

"Are you ok?" He asked and I nodded not looking at him

I looked down at my legs and wished we were near to home

"Kate I wanted to say sorry for-"

"Don't worry, don't even talk about it" I said cutting him mid sentence. I didn't want him to remind me off what he did to me and the guy because it really did hurt

The car was silent again until I heard him sigh

"We're not going to your aunt's house right now" he said and that made my head ache

"What?" I asked as I turned to him for the first time looking into those blue eyes of his. The ones that were filled with fire some moments ago

"We've managed to spot where Albshj lives and we're going there right now" he said and I looked down not sure what to say.

At the moment I felt both happy and angry at the same time. He was the man behind my Dad's kidnap and was I going to meet my Dad and Kyle?

My mind was circling with these thoughts and I didn't notice when Jace came closer to me. I lifted my head up and saw his face inches from mine

I went back had my back touch the door but he still came forward. He raised his hand and brought it closer to my face and I shivered as I felt his thumb carresing my cheek

Suddenly he leaned closer and closer and my heart was pounding as he looked into my eyes.

Instead of feeling his lips on mine like I stupidly expected, I felt his jacket on it because he has stretched his body to the back of mine and clicked the door shut

My heart was racing and I felt like stabbing it with a dagger. Even with all I've seen it was still drawn to him?

"Don't want you falling out the door" he said and I felt like slapping my forehead
