Emily's face reddened at the sight of a very emotional Sarah singing her heart out. Her soothing, out-of-tune voice had attracted a sizable audience, with a few of them holding their phones up, capturing the touching moments for their Instagram posts later. "Oh my God," Emily groaned, smacking her forehead and dragging her palms down her face. "Can I pretend I don't know her?" she asked no one in particular, but still someone snickered behind her. "Fine!" she drawled, making her way towards the drama queen. Emily paid for their dinner and dragged the unwilling Sarah out of the restaurant.
Outside, Sarah refused to leave.
"Where are you taking me?" Sarah protested, hugging the concrete pillar right outside the door, "I haven't had enough fun. I still want to talk with those lovely people. I still want to sing." She had those puppy eyes that would make anyone's heart melt and give in to her requests.
Emily refused to look into her eyes. She grabbed Sarah by the wrist and dragged her away.
Sarah pouted and followed Emily, feeling like a kid on their first day of school. Emily did not fall for her trick. Of course, she wouldn't. She'd been with her long enough to figure out every trick of hers. Barely ten steps forward, her world started spinning, and saliva flooded her mouth. Sarah yanked herself free from Emily's firm grasp and dashed to the edge of the sidewalk.
"Sarah?" Emily called, running after her. "What is...?"
Before Emily could finish talking, Sarah's meal decided it didn't like the hospitality in her stomach, and cancelled its stay. Yep, she shouldn't have chugged that wine. She heaved painfully as all the contents of her stomach left her body. She swayed and went on her knees, and thankfully, Emily supported her before her knees touched the ground. She gripped Emily's hand with her other free hand, tightening her grip as everything blurred. A layer of sweat covered every part of her skin, clammy and uncomfortable. "I don't feel too good," she said, and everything went black.

Sarah came to after what felt like centuries to Emily, saving her from having to ask the taxi driver to help carry her into the house. Emily heaved a sigh of relief and helped Sarah out of the taxi, knowing Sarah hated being touched by strangers. She paid for the ride and then threw Sarah's hand over her shoulder, supporting her as they walked to their apartment. She sat her on the wooden chair outside as she unlocked the door.
As Emily was busy unlocking the door, Sarah lay down on the soft patch of grass right in front of their door. The cool grass felt heavenly against her skin, and she sank into the softness of nature, like a mother's embrace. She lay on her back, gazing at the faint stars in the sky. "Emily, this is fun! Come lie beside me."
"What are you doing?" Emily held both her hands, pulled her up, and stashed her into the house. "It's cold outside. You don't wish to catch a cold, do you?"
"Why are you keeping me inside this giant box?" Sarah complained, slurring a bit. "I can't see the stars in here. I want to catch a few stars for you."
"You can do that tomorrow," Emily said, heading to the kitchen to get something. Sarah decided she hadn't had enough fun and crawled right outside. Yes, crawled.
Crash! Crash!
She started refreshing her cartwheel techniques, failing miserably every time. Poor flowers and flowerpots met their end that night.
"Meow..."
The neighbor's cute kitten wandered into their door, and Sarah had a great idea. She sneaked up on the cat like a predator would sneak up on its prey, pounced on it, and grabbed it with both hands as soon as she got closer. She fell forward like a sack of potatoes, almost squashing the poor cat if not for its quick reflexes.
