Chapter 43: Hunting the Predator!

----------------------

Ahead of me is an army of hyenas all gathered around a large mountain rock. Animals are marching ...? A lion with a scar across his left eye gazes down at the crowd with obvious pride on his face and proclaims in confidence: "A shiny new era is tiptoeing nearer."

"And where do we feature?" asks one of the hyenas in the crowd in slight annoyance.

The lion flashes a grin: "Just listen to the teacher. We're going to kill Mufasa and Simba too. Then I will be king!"

I shiver at the thought as the lion smirks proudly at the faces of the hyenas, which burst into loud laughter and cheers: "Great idea! Long live the king! Long live the king!"

"My teeth and ambitions are bared. Be prepared!" The lion growls menacingly.

Just then, the scene starts changing again. This time, I see an empty hallway. From across the hallway, I see a familiar face. It is the mysterious Diasomnia student I just met in the garden! He is reading in front of a fire in a living room of what appears to be a stone castle. Another student, carrying two bowls of ice cream, is walking up to him and offering him one of them. This student then settles down next to the Diasomnia student. Though I can tell that they are both smiling and telling jokes and stories, the other student's face is blurred out completely. Who is that? But whoever these two are, they seem to be really close friends.

----------------------

I guess I spoke too soon about not having a dreamless night earlier. Getting up, I shudder at the memory of the lion and hyenas, which just rubs me the wrong way. Why didn't they try to talk it out first? Shaking myself awake, I console myself: "Well, that was a wild dream..." And then I remember about the mysterious Diasomnia student and his friend. It sure beats dreaming about the beasts!

The room door opens. Grim walks in, his eyes lighting up when he sees me awake: "Oh, you're up. Breakfast in the cafeteria has already started. Let's get going!" Oops, until then, I hadn't even noticed that Grim isn't in bed, sleeping late as usual.

I rush towards the bathroom to get ready, even as I collect my thoughts after the memory.

----------------------

"Oh yeah, by the way, did you go somewhere last night? You were gone when I woke up to go to the bathroom," asks Grim as we walk down the stairs leading to the lounge.

"Well, last night, I..." I start before telling him the story about last night's encounter with the Diasomia student with horns. After I'm done, Grim looks at me in curiosity: "Eh? A weirdo with horns on his head. What's his name?" he asked curiously.

I shrug my shoulders: "I don't know, he told me to call him whatever I want. But I don't know any good nicknames."

Grim folds his arms and thinks for a moment: "Hmm, in that case, how about 'Tsunotaro (tsuno= horns and taro= which means the eldest son in Japanese)'?"

I thought for a moment as well before nodding happily at the name. "Sure, I think that's good."

"Since Tsunotaro is a student here, we'll probably run into him at some point. You gotta introduce me. I've never seen a human with horns before!" adds Grim with excitement. I nod in agreement as I walk towards the front door.

Surprisingly, instead of Ace and Deuce, Cater and Riddle are standing in front of us.

"G' mornin', Supervisor-chan and Grimmy-chan!" Cater greets us cheerfully with a cake box. But Riddle looks rather perplexed about what to do. I wonder why?
