Chapter 2: The Sorting Ceremony

(A/N: this chapter takes place in the castle where the twins Kerrigan and Lianna and poppy arrived for their Sorting Ceremony Kerrigan and Lianna knew where they were going but the question was is that what the hat would give them)

Kerrigan's POV:

As we slowly walked towards the castle the first stop was the great hall there was plenty of students of all ages sitting at the table enjoying the food I looked up and my eyes widened in awe as I saw the candles floating above us I nudged Lianna in her side and pointed up towards the ceiling we both looked up in awe and eventually joined the crowed of first years for the ceremony slowly one by one were called

Matilda Weasley: Kerrigan Heartly?

My name was called and I felt my body froze I slowly approached the stool and sat on it fixing my skirt as I did and the hat was gently placed on my head

Sorting hat: ah your a little older than the other others you..? A good mind a sense of optimism and liveliness...

I could feel my body tense as he spoke it sent a chill down my spine

Sorting hat: a very curious and energetic student..! I sense a lot of loyalty within your ways of thinking... Better be-.. HUFFLEPUFF!!

The hat shouted I smiled and get down from the stool I held my sister hand one last time because I knew she was next I joined poppy at the Hufflepuff table and smiled I looked across the way to see Sebastian was staring at me a grin on his face I smiled and subtly waved to him he waved back

Matilda Weasley: Lianna Heartly?

My attention was quickly snatched away as Ms. Weasley called my sister's name she slowly approached the sorting hat and I bit my lip nervously I really wanted us to be in the same house for the sake of us being best friends and sisters the hat mumbled things to her until it announced she was in

Sorting hat: HUFFLEPUFF!!

I smiled and sighed in relief as she came to join my side sitting next to me and poppy the ceremony went on until everyone was sorted after Lianna got sorted my attention went back to Sebastian as he began telling the boys at the Slytherin table some jokes I smiled at him and propped my head on my fist

Poppy: that's great to hear what about you Kerrigan?

I was so busy staring at Sebastian I hadn't heard what poppy and Lianna were talking about

Me: huh? O-oh um-.. I guess it's gonna be fun...

I shrugged slightly Lianna leaned over and whispered to me

Lianna: who were you staring at..?

I blushed and quickly answered her

Me: what? N-No one I was just spacing out...

Lianna: hmm... Ok...

She gaze me this look that I knew that she was suspicious of me I sighed

Me: I'm serious Lianna I wasn't..!

She nodded and left it alone

Poppy: anyways we better finish our food so I can show you to the common room you girls can stay with me in my dorm by the way!

Poppy smiled as she took a bite of her mashed potatoes

Me: dorms..? Ugh... As if uniforms weren't enough..!

I rolled my eyes making the two girls giggle and laugh

At the dorms

Poppy: alright... This is it..! Watch carefully of what I do... Otherwise you'll get sprayed with vinegar!
