Chapter 104

"Mia what was that all about?" Ruby asks me.

Maddie is in the elevator with us after the party.

"I-" I say.

"Don't even dare say you don't know." Maddie says. The doors open and I jump to see Jack Dail standing there.

"Oh." He says. "Sorry."

I see him holding his suitcase.

"Where are you going?" Rubys asks. We step out and the doors close.

"I'm leaving." He says.

"Why?" Maddie asks.

"What? Do you want me to stay or something? Becuase you both made your point pretty clear that you don't."

"You don't have to leave because of us." I say.

"Well its not just you." He says looking down.

"What do you mean?" Asks Ruby.

"Everyone is hatin on me!" He says. "My friends have turned on me. Especially the Jacks and Shawn."

"Thats because they were with us when you had that fake girlfriend." Maddie says.

"But why do they hate me?"

"Because they are friends with Mia. You kind of broke her heart." Says Ruby. I can feel my cheeks getting hot.

"Guys thats enough." I mumble.

"Did you ever think about how Mia might have felt about you?" Maddie continues.

"She sure thought you felt the same way." Ruby says.

"I did." He says quietly.

"Really?" Says Maddie. "You have a funy way of showing it."

"Guys stop." I say a little louder. I start getting angry.

"Leaving Mia and then lying to her! Thats real charming!" Ruby says.

"I'm sorry. I-" Jack starts to say when Maddie cuts him off.

"You are so selfish Jack! Why would you even come back?"

"You are just making a fool of yourself!" Ruby says.

"Stop!" I scream. Ruby and Maddie stop and look at me. "Just stop! You guys are embarrasing yourselves! Just be quiet!" I take a deep breath.

"Mia-" Ruby starts to say.

"No! You guys are so mean! Maybe he came to apologize. It's not his fault. He didn't do anything wrong." I look at him and he has tears in his eyes. "Goodnight." I leave them in silence and go to my room.

Matt POV

I go up to my room after the party and the whole time I can't stop thinking about what happened tonight.

The way Mia was looking at me. It felt like the old days.

"Hey Matt." I look and see Nash. "Heading to the room?"

I nod.

"Tonight was fun huh?" He nudges me.

"Yeah it was. It was nice of Brooke to do this." I say.

"Oh don't even think about forgetting what happened tonight." Says Nash.

The elevator doors open and we walk out into the hall.

"What? I have no idea what you are talking about." I say.

"Yes you do!" He says. "It was totally amazing and I know you two still have a thing for each other."
