The sound of a door slamming shut startled me awake. I grit my teeth and wheeze out a breath as a pain in my upper stomach knocked the air from my lungs.

I slowly lift myself up with my elbows supporting me and slide out of bed.

'Good morning, little one.' Bruce's calm voice fills my head.

I sighed and placed a hand on my neck while trying to pop it. 'Good morning, Bruce.'

My body tenses as I hear the sound of keys ringing through the quiet cell. As the cell door opens slowly I back away as Bruce growls from across the room.

I was afraid. Not for myself but for my baby. Sliding a hand down to my moving stomach, I get ready to defend myself in case whoever it was tried to harm me.

Sure, I am pregnant but every pregnant woman and mother will protect their children without a worry for what will happen. Not a moment later the person who I disliked the most walked through the door into the light. Ryan. The werewolf that knocked Bruce and I out with a lot of tranquilizers.

I snarl and bare my teeth as growls rumbled out from my chest. Besides my own I could hear Bruce's violent protest's.

Instead of taking notice to us he steps aside and sweeps his hand to the side, bowing mockingly.

"Every royal pure blood werewolf deserves respect," he spat with so much venom I'm surprised I didn't burn under his murderous look.

"Where are you taking me?" I gulp as he stalks over to me and grips my arm.

Not answering, he speed walks out of the cell and down the hall.

'Ellie!' Bruce roars in fury as the sound of a struggle echoes off the walls.

I try to yank my arm away from his iron-like grip but fail miserably.

'Bruce, calm down! It's okay, I'm okay. Just please stop,' I beg him on the verge of tears.

He stops as he hears the fear in my voice. 'But once you're above ground we will be unable to communicate.'

I scowl at the Beta and try once again to escape, failing once again. 'What are you talking about?' I ask, confused.

He sighed heavily. 'The only reason we are allowed to talk to each other right now is because we are so close but that will all change once you are above ground.'

Before I'm able to respond I feel our link cut off. Panic seizes me, my heart pounding hard in my chest, breathing hitched.

Ryan leads me up some stairs and through a bolt locked metal door. He lays his hand on a scan detector and the door unlocks. Turning to me, he grabs both hands and secure a pair of hand cuffs round them.

He pushes me forward and I gasp while whirling around, hiding my eyes in trembling hands. The sudden bright light had caught me off guard. It is painful to be in a brightly lit room when I was always in darkness. Well, it seemed like it compared to my cell. Truth is, is that it wasn't even considered bright, more like a dimly lit room but that was much brighter than I was used to.

The Beta mutters a string of curses as he throws a bandanna over my eyes and ties it. "Do not talk or else," he warns next to my ear. I purse my lips at the threat, wishing I was my old self so I could teach his some much needed manners.

There is silence as he takes me somewhere else, hopefully a place I could easily escape at. But, I doubt that will be happening anytime soon.

Just be calm, I thought. Even though I kept telling myself everything would be alright I knew it wouldn't if this Beta Ryan guy decides to just get rid of me. I doubt it, though. If the Alpha King went through so much trouble just to keep me his prisoner then he most likely wouldn't try to kill us.
