Chapter 1: Jimmy

I texted Jackson to pick me up para matuloy na namin ang groupings namin. Kailangan na namin matapos 'yon dahil kinabukasan na ang deadline pero ngayon pa lang namin masisimulan. Well, I'm not the lazy one since in my case, I have a side hustle to do. Not the typical hustle, it's unique. Somehow illegal. Family business. 

After texting I just played my phone and stared blankly.

"Son, are you listening to me?" Naagaw ni dad ang atensyon ko. We're in his office right now since he told me to come here. If I know that it's about that, he should have just told me through our phone call earlier.

I stopped playing my phone while both of my elbows are resting on the arm rest of the sofa.

"Yes, dad. I'm free that day so I will come." I answered formally. I'm a little shocked about the news of him coming back here in Manila but I don't want dad to see that I'm surprised by the news.

"I hope you know very well how to behave like a man." Madiin na sabi ni papa while looking directly into my eyes. I'm used to it. "We got invited to the evening party for the heir and nothing else."

"There's nothing to worry, dad. I have no attachments left for Mr. Sasaki's son." I said to him almost rolling my eyes but it still sounds formal since I know he doesn't like me and my siblings speaking in a disrespectful way. "We might have already forgotten our past already. In fact there's already a girl I like." Malamig kong sabi habang nilalaro ko na ulit ang hawak kong cellphone at doon binaling ang paningin.

That's right. Wala na akong nararamdaman para sa kaniya. It's already been years and it was just a puppy love. Dad doesn't even need to make it a big deal but I guess it is for him since what happened in the past is nothing but a stain to our name.

"Really?" He smiled. "That's nice. Who's the girl?" Napahinto ako sa paglalaro ng cellphone ko. Looks like he's quite interested in my love life. As expected.

"I have a lot of things to do, dad." I said, avoiding his command. Tumayo na ko mula sa pag upo at namulsa. Tumalikod na ko sa kanya at akmang aalis ng may gusto pa akong sabihin sa kanya. "Also, dad, I believe that we're not that close enough as father and son to talk about what or whom I like." I coldly said. "But you don't have to worry." I shrugged. "Since I am your obedient son. What I like or who is still according to what you want for me."

I watched his reaction but there's no sign of pain or even anger because I disrespected him. Just his usual face as our strict father. What did I even expect from him?

"I see." What a heartless man. "Tell your sisters too about the evening party next week."

"I will." I answered and finally walked out from his office.

Kesa mainis pa lalo, umalis na ako ng opisina ni dad.

While walking in the hallway I saw my father's secretary smile at me so I smiled as well. Napansin ko na namula pa kaunti ang pisngi ng babae pero di ko na pinansin. He's back. I already expect him to be back but it's faster than I thought. Akala ko mga two years from now pa siya babalik pero this year pala ang balik niya. Well, wala namang problema doon. What I said to dad is true. I have no more feelings left for Drinio and there's already a girl I like.

A girl who's not trying to please others, wears what she wants, smart, and very kind. She's my type. I even made a lot of excuses just to spend time with her since I don't know how can I talk to her without a reason.

I am already thinking of confessing to her anytime soon but at the same time I don't want her to be involved in my dangerous work. She has a peaceful life and I don't. Unlike her and other normal person, I grew up like I meant to be like my dad and my grandfather. To be the best spy of Sasaki org.
