The Sojourner

A moment of recompense
To the one we lost
The man who threw a rock in an ocean
And caused a wave that reached out to sea

He journeyed far from his origins
And his waved rippled through many islands
Some he impacted greatly
And some whose lives he changed forever

And his waves made new waves
And those waves will echo through more islands
And those islands will make more waves
And those waves will pass through more islands

But the further he goes from his beginning
His strength is slowly fading
But the wave will not stop to rest
Until he reached the sandy shore beyond our reach

And now his journey has ended
For the wave must return to the ocean
It's cycle that was passed through the generations
And many more generations to come
