My Giant Lizard Mate

Chapter 2

"Here goes nothing."Rosalie mumbled to herself as she stood on the top of a high cliff.She lifted the arm with the tattoo on it to her lips and kissed it feeling a tingling sensation flow through her body.Looking at the tattoo she watched as the form of the sleeping dragon changed to one that was now standing with it's wings spread out as it was about to take flight.Watching the skies Rosalie was unsurprised at the sight of a large red, orange scaled dragon, with two long curled black horns and spikes along its spine flying towards the cliff.She stood back to give it room to land and when it did it was engulfed in a bright white light.Once the light faded in the dragon's place stood a 6ft tall woman with long chestnut colored hair down to her waist, lean muscled body and red eyes that danced with orange flames.She was dressed in white robes adorned with gold accents that flowed to the ground with golden bangles and various rings covering each finger that were made of gold and silver and different types of precious jewels.The silver circlet on her head was covered in diamonds and at the center was a large ruby the size of an egg.

"My love it is still early why is it you have called for me?"Bella asked holding her arms open for Rosalie.

Rosalie happily let herself be pulled into the embrace."I want to say that I missed you and although that is true I'm afraid we are in trouble."

"What kind of trouble?"Bella was now on high alert.

"It's Edward and his human mate."Rosalie began only to be interrupted by Bella.

"I should have killed that boy a long time ago."Bella growled.

"I wish you had but since you didn't he had gotten the human pregnant and she gave birth to a hybrid."Rosalie told her.

"How does this get you in trouble?"Bella asked.

"Irina showed up wanting to make peace after the whole Laurent incident with the wolves.When she got here she saw the child in the woods with her mother and one of the shifters.Instead of talking about what she saw she rushed off to Italy and claimed that we have created an immortal child."Rosalie explained.

Bella sighed."Let me guess the queens believed her and now they are gathering together most of the guard and are planning on personally attacking you guys for breaking the law."

"Exactly."Rosalie confirmed.

"There is so many things that your coven has done wrong that I'm not surprised that the queens are deciding to come themselves.What is it you need me to do?"Bella wasn't keen on getting involved but would always protect her mate regardless of who was at fault.

"I didn't want to bother you with this but Tanya begged me to.She believes and I agree that even if you contacted the queens and explained the situation they would come anyway.What she hopes is when they come you could find a way to have Irina spared.She was after all the one who made the false claim."Rosalie told her.

"How long until they come?"Bella asked.

Rosalie smiled sheepishly."Three weeks."

"And what do you expect me to do for those three weeks?"Bella was sure she wasn't going to like the answer.

"Although I am loathed to ask would you please come to my home where we have gathered allies to help us.Three weeks is a guess and as you know the future isn't set."Rosalie wasn't surprised by the deep frown Bella was now sporting.

"What has Alice seen?"Bella knew the seer would have better information than that.

Rosalie rubbed the back of her neck."That's another thing.Alice and Jasper took off and nobody knows where they went nor have had any contact with them."

"My beautiful Rose"Bella sighed in frustration and then took Rosalie's face in her hands and kissed her passionately.

Rosalie immediately responded to the kiss and didn't even put up any resistance when Bella's tongue pushed past her lips.She had missed Bella as she always did when they were separated but understood her love was not meant for the human world.She was an ancient who liked her solitude and only usually left her keep to spend time with was humbling to the vampire to know that after being alive so long Bella had only truly enjoyed her company.Bella had told Rosalie on many occasions that if she had it her way Bella would just kill off every human and supernatural and live by herself until the world ended.Then again her love was dramatic and a bit grouchy.

Bella sighed as she pulled away from Rosalie."I suppose this means that I have to meet your family."

"At least you know Tanya."Rosalie was trying to find a positive in this situation but there really wasn't any.

"Ah yes Tanya.That woman still owes me a life debt."Bella said.

Rosalie flinched remembering the events that led to that debt."In her defense how was she to know that climbing that mountain would lead her to your keep."

"It wasn't the fact that she found my keep that was the problem it was her thinking it alright to steal from me that was the problem.I should have strung her up and stripped her flesh from her bones as punishment."Bella would have if it hadn't been for Rosalie interfering.Tanya was lucky her love had been the one at her keep that confronted Tanya because Bella wouldn't have been nice enough to speak first.

"Yes, well you made the deal so you can't go back on it now."Rosalie had been surprised when Tanya had shown up in Bella's home. Apparently Tanya had heard a rumor of pirate treasure hidden in the mountains and had been bored enough to try and find it.Instead she found Rosalie holding back a giant dragon that wanted to kill her. Rosalie didn't even want to imagine what would happen if she wasn't there as she had no problem believing Bella would have killed the coven leader.

"Well now it seems I will be earning a new life debt by helping this Irina woman."Bella mused.

"I suppose you will."Rosalie didn't want to think about anyone owing anything for saving them but knew that dragons didn't help unless there was an incentive.Especially a dragon as old as Bella.

"I guess we should get going."Bella was hungry now that she was awake."Will there be food there or should I transform and hunt before we leave?"

"There will be food there so you won't have to reveal yourself."Rosalie would have to go shopping to buy more groceries.Esme had stocked up for the shifters but Bella's appetite far surpassed the mutts so they would need to have a lot food for her.

"Good."Bella held out her hand for Rosalie."Lead the way beloved."

"Of course."Rosalie took Bella's hand in her own and led her down the mountain.She knew she was inconveniencing her mate but was selfishly happy that she would get some time with Bella.Rosalie was not looking forward to all the questions that were to come when she introduced Bella to her family.She had kept Bella a secret after meeting her a year after she became a wasn't that she was ashamed of Bella it's just that Rosalie didn't want to have to explain their relationship nor the fact that Bella was a wasn't well known that dragons even existed and Rosalie didn't think it was safe for others to know what her mate was.Telling her family would be a huge mistake because none of them knew how to keep a secret.
